Around York Water
Maintenance and Grounds teamed up with the Electronics and Filter Plant teams to deploy water quality monitoring sondes #2 and #3 in Lake Redman. These instruments provide vital data about the water within our lake system prior to treatment at the Filter Plant.
On November 23, 2021, work began at the Letterkenny Wastewater Treatment Plant to install a new outfall pipe and metering station. This work will satisfy a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Consent Order that was issued to the previous owner of this wastewater treatment plant.
Construction of a 500,000-gallon spheroid water tank,
elevated at a height of 145 feet has been underway at
Amblebrook Gettysburg in Adams County. This tank will
provide additional fire and domestic water service to the
community. Our contractor recently provided this drone
footage of the tank.
Thanks to Team Streavig and all of our volunteers who joined us on a beautiful Thanksgiving morning to support the YMCA of York Turkey Trot. Nearly 2,500 runners participated in the event, consuming just about 200 gallons of ‘that good York water.’ Shout out to Jeff and Baylor Streavig, Cooper, Cameron and Mark Wheeler, Julio Rivera, Nick Schaefer, Mark Snyder, Patti Stirk, and Jeff Hines for supporting the runners and representing the Company.
Marty Strine, Luke and Austin Rhoads, and Zach and Joseph Zimmerman
represented York Water at the Eagle Scout Recognition dinner on
November 23rd. York Water was a sponsor of this event. Thank you for
representing York Water proudly!
Kent Croman recently took these beautiful pictures from the Lake Redman boat launch. Fall at the lakes is a stunning scene.
It may not be Halloween anymore, but we are still loving this photo of
Jesse Hartman’s kids. The kids wanted their picture taken next to a York
Water fire hydrant. Hannah was Sky from Paw Patrol, Isaac was a panda
bear, and Simon was a thunderstorm! Seems like Simon may already be
developing a passion for water!
We recently received a letter from a thankful and happy customer:
“I would like to give a shout out of thanks to the men who came to
connect our water. They were very polite and quick to remedy the
problem. I very much am grateful. God bless them.”
Thank you to our team members that positively and respectfully
represent York Water when entering our customers’ homes. Keep up
the good work!
Steve Metzler and Mark Snyder recently led a tour of the Brillhart Pumping Station for the Engineering Society of York (ESOY). The tour
discussed the new electrical and pumping system improvements that recently were put in place. The ESOY members in attendance were
very complimentary of the tour. Thank you, Steve and Mark!
