our 10th birthday celebrations for later in the year with a small committee doing the bulk of the

planning.

The committee of GV Pride is also working on many new and exciting ideas to help promote GV Pride

as well as activities for the members to enjoy in 2015.

Hume Phoenix started during the mid 1990’s and was formed from 2 smaller local

support groups under the guide of Albury Community Health. It grew into a large

group that covered a lot of Southern NSW and North East Victoria. Hume Phoenix

Sidney Myer Fund / Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia

Grant round announcement

The Sidney Myer Fund and the GALFA Board of Directors are pleased to announce our second joint

funding round, as part of the Sidney Myer Fund Poverty and Disadvantage Small Grants Program, to

the value of $15,000.

The aim of this grant is for projects that create and implement strategies for LGBTI ageing well. These

can be in one or more of the following areas:

- physical and/or emotional wellbeing

- independent living

- inter-generational support

Preferred projects would be nationally-applicable and take the form of either community development,

education initiatives, events, or applied community-led research.

Applicants are to submit an expression of interest by email to GALFA using the appropriate form by

Sunday 1st March 2015. Those short listed will then be advised by late March asked to submit a full

application using the Sidney Myer Fund online system by 30th April 2015.

actually a pretty big job!) We’ve changed our style & will now be sending you monthly newsletters (as much as is

practically possible) no more than 10 pages long – we’ll also be updating both our website (gvpride.org) and Facebook page
