How to Skip Songs on iPod or iPhone Without Touching Screen
If you are listening to music with the phone in the pocket then you would surely enjoy the
convenience of controlling the music app without pulling phone out and unlocking it.
However if you want to control music the follow the tricks given below:
Supported Headphones
If you are using headphones which are provided along with the device then it is easy to skip or
return to the previous song.1. In order to go to next song pres center button
twice. 2. If you want to return to the previous song
then press center button thrice.
Jailbreak Device
If you are using headphones which do not support the feature or the
one which comes with iPod Touch, follow steps below:
Ensure that the device is jail broken and has Cydia installed. You can also do the same on iOS 7 devices with the help of evasion tool.
After that the Cydia should be installed.
Launch Cydia thereafter search for and download Activator (free) app. It is hosted in
BigBoss storehouse which is included by default in Cydia. If you have removed it
previously from the Manage tab then you can add source by using this URL:
http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/.
Launch Activator app from home screen. You would see several options where an action can be triggered. If you want to
control music app from lock screen then choose ‘At Lock Screen
option’
Now scroll down the list until you find the Volume Buttons section. This is where you can add more behavior to the volume buttons of the device.
For each of the action, there would be a list of things you can do. Select Next Track for ‘Up Short Hold’ and
Previous Track for ‘Down Short Hold’.
Now close the app and changes would be automatically saved. You can lock the device, play a song as well as use volume buttons to control app.
