power sourcemains powerBefore using the unit, connect the supplied mains adapter to the DC 5V IN socket at the rear of the unit and then to the mains socket.

basic operationpowering ON/OFF1. After connecting the mains adapter to the unit and the mains socket, the display will

turn on and the time will be shown. (You will need to set the time.)

2. The unit will enter STANDBY mode.

3. Press the SOURCE button to switch the unit between the different modes (AUX, FM, iPod).

4. Press and hold the SOURCE button until the “OFF” show on the display. The unit will turn to Standby mode, and the time will display.

setting the timeThe clock can only be set in STANDBY mode

1. In standby mode, press and hold the STORE button to enter the clock setting mode.

2. When you see the hour digits flashing, press the buttons to select the hour, then press the STORE button to set.

3. The minutes digits will flash next. Press the buttons to select the minutes, then press the STORE button to set the time and return to reviewing the clock.

time auto-synchronizationEach time an iPod / iPhone is docked, the clock will automatically adjust to the time on the iPod / iPhone.

An iPod / iPhone can only sync time up to the nearest minute; it’s possible to have up to 59 seconds difference between the clock radio and the synced iPod / iPhone.

selecting modesPress the SOURCE button repeatedly to switch between modes (FM, iPod or AUX).

memoryWhen you power up the unit again, the unit enters the same mode and plays the same station (FM, iPod or AUX) that it was left in when it was last turned off.

adjusting the volumePress the or buttons to increase or decrease the volume level from 30 to 00.

setting the alarms4. In standby mode, press and hold the 1 or 2 buttons to set the alarm 1 or 2. The hour

digits will flash.

5. Press the buttons to adjust the hour digits, then press the 1 or 2 buttons to confirm.

6. The minute digits will flash. Press the buttons to adjust the minute digits, then press the 1 or 2 buttons to confirm.

7. The alarm type will flash. Press the buttons to select the alarm type (Buzzer(B), iPod / iPhone(I), FM Radio(F)). Press the 1 or 2 buttons to confirm.

8. The alarm volume will flash. Press the buttons to set the alarm volume. Press the 1 or 2 buttons to confirm.

snooze function1. Press the SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP button when the alarm sounds. The alarm will go

off and will sound again in approximately 9 minutes.

2. The snooze alarm will continue to go off every nine minutes. To turn the alarm off, press the 1 or 2 buttons until SNOOZE disappears from the LED display.

sleep timer functionUse the sleep timer to turn the system off after a certain number of minutes in play mode. By setting the sleep timer, you can fall asleep to music and know that your system will turn off by itself rather than play all night.

1. To set the sleep timer press the SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP button repeatedly to view the different timer settings. The number of minutes shown will display in this sequence:

2. The system is now set to turn off after the number of minutes you have set. The display will show “# mins”, e.g. “10 mins” means the unit will switch itself off after 10 minutes, “15 mins” means the unit will switch itself off after 15 minutes, and so on.

3. Press the SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP button to show the remaining time till the unit switches off and return to previous screen.

4. To cancel the sleep timer press the SNOOZE/DIMMER/SLEEP button repeatedly until “OFF” shows on the display.

FM operationselecting FM modePress the SOURCE button repeatedly until you have switched to FM mode.

searching for a station automaticallyTo search for an FM station, press and hold the button. The unit will start scanning up the frequency band. To scan down the frequency band, press and hold the button. Once a station has been found, scanning will stop automatically.

If no station is found, then the tuning will stop once it has cycled through the entire FM band (87.5-108MHz).

searching for a station manuallyTo search for FM stations manually, simply press the buttons repeatedly until your desired frequency is reached.

for better receptionFully unwind the FM aerial. Extend the FM aerial and place it in the position that offers the best sound reception.

The unit will automatically switch between stereo and mono. This is helpful when signal reception is poor.

presetting stationsYou can store up to 20 of your favourite stations to the preset stations. This will enable you to access your favourite stations quickly and easily.

1. To programme a preset station, you must first be listening to the station that you would like to save, then press and hold the STORE button.

2. Press the buttons to select your desired preset station number.

3. Press the STORE button once more to confirm the selection.

recalling a preset station1. Once you have saved a station, you can recall it by pressing the RECALL button.

2. Press the buttons to select your desired preset station number.

Unplugging the mains adapter will erase the all preset memory.

3. Slot your iPod / iPhone onto the dock.4. If the iPod / iPhone is connected, the unit will start playback (it will take around 10

seconds for the unit to identify the iPod / iPhone). The iPod / iPhone battery will start to charge automatically until it is fully charged.

• If you charge the iPod / iPhone while playing music, it may take longer than normal.• You can play / pause and select the previous / next track from the controls on the unit. All

other functions can only be controlled from your iPod / iPhone.• 1st, 2nd & 3rd generation iPods cannot be charged.• On some iPod / iPhone models, if your battery has completely discharged, the unit may

not charge the iPod / iPhone. If this occurs, we suggest charging through your PC or your iPod / iPhone mains charger.

5. Select your desired music, or video, etc., and play the connected iPod / iPhone as usual.You can do this on either the iPod / iPhone or the unit.

AUX operation1. Before connecting to the mains socket, use a 3.5mm LINE IN cable (not included) to

connect your audio device through the AUX IN socket at the rear of the unit.

2. Connect the mains adapter to the unit, then the mains socket. The unit will enter Standby mode.

3. Press the SOURCE button repeatedly until you have switched to AUX mode

4. In AUX mode, you may operate your audio device directly for playback features.

charging your iPod / iPhone1. Your iPod / iPhone has an internal non-removable battery, the battery may need to be

charged if it has not been used for a while.

2. You can automatically charge the iPod / iPhone through the unit when in all modes.

The unit cannot show any music information on your iPod / iPhone. Please view the music information on your iPod’s / iPhone’s display.

• To clean the unit, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth.

• Do not use any cleaning fluids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.

• Do not spray an aerosol at or near the unit.

hints and tipsproblem cause / solution

No Sound Adjust the volume control, it may not be turned up.

Static Sound Poor reception. Adjust the aerial or move the unit to a stronger signal location.

Sound is distorted Volume is too high. Adjust the volume.

Desired station not found Weak signal. Use the manual tune function.

No sound in AUX-IN mode Ensure that the audio plug is fully inserted and the unit is in AUX-IN mode.
