RTLS – REAL TIME LOCATION SYSTEM
BUSINESS NEEDS
BETTER FORKLIFT UTILIZATION, FLEET OPTIMIZATION
• Accurate data regarding the runtime and utilization of forklifts.
• Fleet optimization – analysis of idle runs, overloading and underloading
• Predictive maintenance– with accurate logging of operating hours
• Information on operating conditions: (speed, battery capacity, fork load etc.)
BETTER UTILIZATION OF WAREHOUSE CAPACITY, TRACEABILITY OF PALLETS
• Accurate information regarding the pallet– what is it loaded with, how long is it in use?
• Alert, when a pallet stays in an area for too long
• Pallet – load alignment solution
• Increasing the rotation of pallets
• Reducing search times for greater efficiency

CANARY – EHS SMARTWATCH SOLUTION
HOW CANARY WORKS
ALARM MODE
• The app continuously vibrates the watch, alerting the user of thedanger
• In alarm mode, the type of dangeralways gets to the front screen
• On the interface the ‚Confirm’ button becomes visible
• When the user presses this button, the app sends a confirmatione-mail to the alarm centre.
MONITORING MODE
• The default mode for the app is ‚monitoring mode’
• Monitoring mode starts immediately when the watch is switchedon, no user interaction needed.
• The app constantly scans for incoming text messages.
• When it receives text from a predetermined number, it automatically sets of alarm mode
CANARY – EHS SMARTWATCH SOLUTION
EHS CANARY DASHBOARD
9
• Web based dashboard interface
• Alignment of smart watches – phone numbers– users
• Monitoring users’ heartrate.
• Global notifications via text messages
• Monitoring of confirmations
• Readiness status of the watches is visible from the dashboard

FORKLIFT DETECTION
BUSINESS NEEDS
EHS FACILITY – ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY, ACCIDENT PREVENTION
• Preventing accidents in warehouses and industrial facilities, where forklifts and pedestrianswork at the same time
• Establishing a reliable way of alerting both the driver and the pedestrian
1. RTLS anchor and UWB tag detect the forklift
2. Tag – Smart watch communicates via BLE connection
3. Sending the alert– Vibrating the smart watch(with different strenghts)
4. Confirmation

AGV - AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLE
AUTOMATED MATERIAL HANDLING AGVS
ADVANTAGES
• Operation report: mapping paths, measurable timeframe from request to execution
• The AGV detects obstacles, uses the shortest route, minimizingidle runs and unnecessary bypasses
• Change in approach and HR: requesting materials with the pushof a button instead of ERP, task orientation, simplification, easier training of new employees (no ERP access is needed)
• Own employee in warehouse --> Responsibility and prioritymanagement in one hand
• Modular expansion possibility taking into consideration theexperiences (Not making too big a step….)
• Reducing idle runs
• Optimizing service
• Predictive maintenance + supporting operation offline / on-site
FUNCTIONS
• Authorization management• Automatic speed control, total blocking• Multiple ways of communication• Automatic goods identification
• Runtime recording• Crash detection• Collecting data from sensors• Data reading from CAN-bus(optional)
ADVANTAGES
• Predictive maintenance• Fleet optimization• Lease reduction• Fewer accidents
• Efficiency increase• Sending messages, instructions to the driver• Manufacturer independent• Real-time data about operating conditions
IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
• Forklift calling button• Integration to existing platforms
(ERP, MES) -> automated forklift calling• RTLS integration, end-to-end forklift management
• Business reports: proposals for optimization, idle runs, underloading and overloading
