YOU WILL COVER: • shore-based training covering safety • gear and catch handling • net mending • rope work • navigation • boat handling • mandatory Seafish safety courses • basic fishing vessel stability Have you thought about a career in the fishing industry? This new entrant course is fully funded and will provide you with all the basic sea and safety certificates you need to go to sea. It runs for 15 days and is ideal for school leavers or anyone who is considering entering this sector. The funding is administered by Seafish and provided by Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the European Maritime Fisheries Fund. Places are limited so applicants will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. No formal qualifications are required but you must be over 16 years of age.
