Workshop aims This workshop enables the candidate to gain an understanding of the basic concepts of CAD modelling to enable them to independently produce their own 3D models from 2D sketches. Throughout the workshop you will cover many different functions on CAD software Autodesk Inventor and begin to understand how the software could be utilised in your job role as a CAD operator. By the end of the workshop you will be able to competently use a variety of autodesk inventor 2D and 3D commands to produce CAD 3D models for a range of engineering applications. Who should attend This workshop applies to managers and technicians responsible for the testing of materials and products. It is equally suited to designers, engineers, procurement and business development personnel in all branches of manufacturing engineering. This course does not require any prior CAD experience. • Creating 3D parts to specified tolerances
• Editing sketches and features• Rectangular and circular pattern sketching• Dimensions and calculations• Candidates work through personalised development tasks

Intermediate CADReinforce and extend attendees knowledge base with our Intermediate CAD course.This supplementary two day workshop enables candidates to continue practising the skills already gained in the Introduction to CAD course and become proficient in the production of 3D models. Candidates will be introduced to additional functions of Autodesk Inventor and will work through a set of drawings to produce various 3D models.
2D features• Creating various profiles using rectangle, circle and line tools• The use of patterning techniques to create PCD’s/hole positions• Applying dimensions and constraints ensuring the sketch is fully constrained• Additional sketches and editing of sketches to develop problem solving skills.

3D features• Model manipulation to set up the correct view using zoom, pan, orbit techniques• Changing a 2D sketch into a 3D solid using extrude and revolve techniques• Using various options of hole, fillet and chamfer features to change model design• Patterning of 3D features using rectangular, circular and mirror techniques• Assembly of components.
