Not-for-profit social change group based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Was started back in 1989 by Kalle Lasn and Bill Schamlz.

Organized global network of various activists, artists, writers, pranksters, students and educators that seek to advance the new social activist movement of the information age.

Falls on November 25 in North America and on the 26 in the rest of the world.

Started to remove the stress of the holidays by eliminating the to-do lists and endless hours in different malls trying to find the perfect gift.

Serves as a reminder about the true meaning of the holidays.

Adbusters tells people to break that consumer mentality that prevails in current culture by giving your friends and family a “gift exemption” card or by going to the mall carrying a “What Would Jesus Buy?” sign on you.

Organized to bring awareness to unethical business practices in the manufacturing of brand-name shoes.

Shoes are made hemp, recycles tires and vegan leather and produce in fair-trade or unionized factories around the globe.

Hopes to influence business owners or anyone with business plans to spread the philosophies that consist of spreading indie culture and offering alternative products that will change trends of buying from mega-corporations.

Committed to the deconstructing of what our society views as “cool”, but more importantly it is about changing the way the world does business.

Nike has chosen to ignore unsafe working conditions and has created sweatshops in third world countries.

The truth is that workers are not happy for this shoe and clothing giant.

Was created to take a break from the digital world and reflect on ourselves and what life is really all about.

It takes place from the 18th of April to the 24th and everyone is encouraged to participate.

Society is becoming increasingly dependent on digital devices

Slow down and approach life from a different perspective

Slowing down doesn’t represent a pace, but rather a philosophy.

Culture jamming is the main tool or tactic that is used by Adbusters to challenge consumerism.

Tactics include re-figuring logos, fashion statements, and product images to challenge the idea of "what's cool" along with assumptions about the personal freedoms of consumption.

Offer alternative solutions that can get society moving and taking action to resolve various issues.

Teamwork and networking with no limitations to connect with everyone around the world.

Adbusters has contributed to society in ways that couldn’t have been possible 20 years ago.

Some of us have been virtually consumed by the use of electronics that we allow little or no time to ourselves and loved ones

We should make the conscious effort to not permit technology to entirely consume or define who we are.
