OUR APPROACH

Trail Blazers’ program approach has been developed over the course of125 years. We believe that being in groups and being deeply involved in yourown experience is the best way to learn and grow. We facilitate this processby using nature: our 1000 acres of beautiful, untouched land and lake removethe distractions of modern life and is a place to connect to both the naturalworld and oneself. The learning and growth process is further developedthrough a range of non-competitive activities, group-oriented focus, and theindividual’s input in creating their own experience. This approach establishes aprogram that is unique and personal to each participant and offersopportunities for personal growth and educational development.

PRESENTING: UNDER ONE SKY

Page 7: Introducing Trail Blazers

Under One Sky was born out of the realization that a complete understanding of “environment”involves much more than experiencing the outdoors. Under One Sky aims to expand our youth’s

understanding of “environment” to include everywhere they live, work, and play and to helpthem take their personal connection with the outdoors and translate them into practical meaningfor their urban lives. By supplementing science education with exploration of the links betweenenvironmental, personal, and community well-being, participants fully comprehend how“environment” in all its forms impacts our lives. Furthermore, and most importantly, Under One Skyhelps youth understand how they can affect their environments for the better.

We are especially pleased to announce
