Key Findings
American Institute of Architects Nationwide Voter Survey 2009
CAUSE OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
You may have read or heard that some people believe greenhouse gasemissions are a threat to the environment. What do you think is the topcause of greenhouse gas emissions today? Would you say it is…
2009 2007
Exhaust from cars and trucks 36 40Emissions from aerosol cans 1 1Emissions from buildings 4 7Emissions from power plants 21 19Natural causes 22 15Other 7 10
COMMENT: While vehicles and buildings have declined somewhat as greenhousegas emission culprits, natural causes has increased. Based on both the 2007 and2009 surveys, voters nationwide still do not see buildings as a major cause of theproblem. That message has yet to penetrate the public mind.
