Universitas Airlangga prepares its students for an integrated hard skills and soft skills learning pro-cess of intra-, extra-, and co-curr icular elements. Facing many global challenges, Universitas Air-langga encourages the students to be more exposed to the international environment by inviting more international students to participate in programs that are designed for academic and cultural purposes. This catalogue is designed to meet the demands on information availabil ity regarding the interna-tional programs in Universitas Airlangga. It is specially dedicated to any international students who wish to expand their exper ience for a study outside their university. There are var ious programs which the international students can select.

I hope that the more international students come to Universitas Airlangga, the more they will know Indonesia, especially through Universitas Airlangga, along with its local character istics. Besides, they can br ing such an international environment to the students of Universitas Airlangga. BENEFITS

AMERTA calls outstanding students to experience the diverse culture of Indonesia and the local East Java atmosphere to study for one or two semesters. This program is available for international students who are interested in a number of uniquely Indonesian perspective subjects in social and cultural aspects, economics, natural sciences, and health/life sciences. Inaugurated in 2014, it was successfully conducted for its first batch. All courses are fully delivered in English, and students are complimentarily provided with Indonesian language learning and cultural trips during the programs. Field studies are compulsory in some courses to integrate theoretical perspectives into practice.

Undergraduate Students are required to:

1. Complete at least two semesters at the home university

2. Have a fair command of English (proven by an English proficiency certificate: TOEFL ITP 500, iBT 70, IELTS 5 with each Band no less than 5)

3. Be recommended by the home university as an exchange student (proven by home university’s officially stamped documents)

This program is a community service program for undergraduate students, designed to empower society by inserting new knowledge into a disadvantaged society. Both international and local participants will aim to expose to the real problem in society so that they can put ideas into action and action into service to the society.

AirVenture! Is an international program which focuses on initiating knowledge about the natural and cutural resources of Indonesia. Throught on-site visit, field trips and workshops, the students are expected to get hands on experience about natural conservations. Students will learn and participate in protection, preservation, management and restoration of wildlife and natural resources. Besides, students will also explore the beauty of Indonesian culture by living with the locals as well as joining Bahasa Indonesia classes.

This is a society empowerment program through Sociopreneurship which cooperates with three excellent universities in the eastern part of Indonesia: Universitas Airlangga, Petra Christian University, and Udayana University. The participants will be exposed to Indonesian culture in two big regions which are Surabaya and Bali. By the end of the program, participants are expected to have the competencies to identify sociopreneurship activities, map the challenges, and offer ideas to improve social enterprises in the global setting.

The International Community Outreach Program is a one-week program which is designed to offer students a once-in-a-lifetime experience that allows them to explore and respond to the actual social life & help the community development problems. Through this program, students will be able to experience the education of high school students with the aim of creating awareness and advocacy for a particular issue. Adapted from the eleventh Sustainable Development Goals, this year’s COP will tackle the issue of sustainable cities and communities.

Miami Dade College Tailor Made Program:Participants are Having So Much Fun Exploring The Historical Kampung Maspati and Immersing Themselves with The Locals by Dressing Up Like Javanese People. Surabaya, East Java

Universitas Airlangga tailor made programs offer colleges and universities all around the world the opportunity to create a study abroad program in Indonesia that fits specific needs and interests. These programs can be focused on specific content themes as well as English language skills. Programs can range in length from one week to one month or more, and can take place on the Unair campus or onsite at the chosen location.Universitas Airlangga strives to bring you innovative ideas and educational challenges. We aim to develop programs that meet specialized requirements for unique subject areas and audiences.

The previous program includes Airlangga-Koc Summer Camp in 2018. Requested by Koc University, Turkey, the theme revolves around Sociopreneurship that took place in Surabaya and Bali. Since 2016, we have been facilitating an annual tailor-made program requested by Miami Dade College, USA. Adopting multiculturalism as a theme, the program took place around the Eastern Java region, exploring the vast diversity the region has to offer.
