As a graduate, you will be well-prepared for a range of di erent careers in multi-national firms, international banks, start-ups, government, research institutes, and consultancy firms. You will actively participate in major research projects, conduct your own research, present your results, and write short essays and a major thesis.

A real-world perspectiveU.S.E. wants its research and educational programmes to be relevant to a better society. In order to educate students to become responsible citizens, the curricula of the Master’s programmes have been set up with an open mind for the world around us. Since human behaviour is not always rational and the markets are not always in equilibrium. Institutions are important for under-standing economic dynamics and so are the dimensions of time and space. Therefore the U.S.E. Master’s

programmes are characterised by a multidisciplinary approach, that distinguishes them from Master’s programmes at other universities. U.S.E. takes a real-world perspective.

Expertise The MSc International Economics and Business is taught by an internationally acclaimed team of academics. The programme is coordinated by Prof. Clemens Kool, a specialist in the field of international financial markets and banking. Other members of the teaching and research team include Prof. Wolter Hassink, Dr. Peter-Jan Engelen, Dr. Gerrit Faber, Prof. Erik Stam, Dr. Mark Sanders, Prof. Hans Schenk and Dr. Marc Schramm.

“Great curriculum, approachable professors, and internationally oriented” “U.S.E. is a great place to study and I am very happy I made the decision to join the one-year Master's programme here. Other than the very nice aca-demic and social atmosphere, U.S.E. has a great curriculum, approachable professors, and is also internationally oriented. The programme o  ered

me the chance to gain a more in-depth theoretical knowledge of fi nancial topics, while at the same time achieve some practical experience in the fi eld. The various company visits and the hands-on projects will surely give a boost to my career. In addition, the opportunity to write my thesis at the Dutch Central Bank was the perfect way to end my studies at U.S.E. and spring forward into my new position as a Financial Analyst at Oracle Netherlands.”

Adelina Popescu (Romania) MSc Graduate International Economics and Business

“Good preparation for career in academics or business”“This Master’s programme gives you the opportunity to delve into di  erent aspects of international economics. It provides you with an overview of the most im-portant topics in the fi eld, from an economics and a business perspective. The programme provided me with knowledge
