This degree is designed for students whowant a management career in international,multinational or global organisations.

You will gain the knowledge and skills neededto operate and manage businesses acrossborders.

Developing proficiency in a modern languageis integral to the degree:

• we offer a range of languages at beginners'or advanced level, including Chinese*,French, German, Spanish and businessEnglish

• there are several pathways through thedegree, depending on your language leveland needs

You may choose to spend a year on workplacement or studying abroad. Theseopportunities enhance your CV, improve yourlanguage skills, and give you an internationalperspective on business management.

Pathways through the degreeThere are three pathways through the degree:

Studying a modern language at post-A level orequivalent

• You may study French, German or Spanish at post-Alevel or equivalent

• This four-year degree includes a year abroad at aninternational partner University, developing your languageskills and experiencing another culture

Studying a modern language from beginner's level

• You may study Chinese, French, German or Spanishfrom beginners' level

• This is a three-year degree, but may be extended to fouryears by taking either a study abroad year or a workplacement (subject to visa restrictions)

Studying Advanced Business English.

• This route is available to non-native English speakers,who have IELTS 6.5 or above on entry

• This is a three-year degree, but may be extended to fouryears by taking either a study abroad year or a workplacement (subject to visa restrictions)

Those taking a four-year path will be registered as N120,those taking a three-year path as N121.

Your language choicesYou can choose to study as a beginner or from post-A levelor equivalent. Your choices are:

• Chinese: available from beginner level only• French: available from beginner level or post A-Level (or

equivalent)• German: available from beginner level or post A-Level (or

equivalent)• Spanish: available from beginner level or post A-Level (or

equivalent)• Advanced business English: available to non-native

speakers with IELTS 6.5 or above on entry

Intercalating year (N120)

Study abroad year• A study abroad year is compulsory for students taking

languages post A-Level, to support your languagelearning

• For students studying languages at beginners’ level, thisyear is optional

• We currently have partners in a variety of locations inFrance, Spain, Germany and China

Work placement year• Those opting to take a work placement will gain

invaluable business experience• You will receive support from the Business School’s

Placement Officer, and the University’s Careers Serviceto find a placement that matches your skills and interests

This degree offers three study routes, depending on yourlanguage skills on entry. Each route is fundamentally thesame but offers different language modules depending onyour needs.

Additional Information on GCSEs (or equivalent)

Achievement of a minimum of five GCSE grades A*-C, orequivalent, is normally required. These must includeMathematics and English GCSE, or equivalent, at thespecified grades.

A Levels

AAB. Any subject combinations accepted excluding GeneralStudies. Minimum grade B in  GCSE Mathematics andEnglish and in a GCSE Modern Language (eg French) if notoffered at AS or A Level.

Scottish Qualifications

AAABB at Higher Grade. Mathematics and English and aModern Language (eg French) required at grade 2 StandardGrade (or Intermediate 2 equivalent) if not offered at HigherGrade.
