Following trends too closely can quickly outdate an interior design scheme. I prefer to think timeless, incorporating color and design trends with accessories. Pantone and Sherwin Williams recently released their choices for Color of the Year 2014. Radiant Orchid 18- 3224 and Exclusive Plum 6263 respectively. And lest we forget Benjamin Moore’s Breath of Fresh Air Blue 806, Pittsburgh Paints joined the fray, naming Turning Oakleaf (ATC-38) as its color for 2014. Directly opposite on the color wheel from purple is its complement - yellow. Turning Oakleaf is described as soft as butter cream yet energetic as sunlight.
