The brief covered initial concept, design development, art direction, sourcing of stock and finishes aswell as dealing with the printers and Client directly. The 60 page publication allowed for a double page spread for each student. The publication from the beginning was seen as a showcase platform for the students work, and direction was lead by content and not the students themsleves. The Cover features a large typographic installation reflecting the courses ambitions and opinions of its students, giving presence to a course that isn’t as well known.

Front Cover Luke Hallam - lh85996 - FMP - www.luke-hallam.co.uk - June 2011 Aswell as the cover giving strong presence with a full wrap, we wanted to create a publication that wasn’t instantly seen as a yearbook, with no evidence on the cover. The focus of the publication is content and not of the particular student in question and reflects throughout. Full cover and spreads. Luke Hallam - lh85996 - FMP - www.luke-hallam.co.uk - June 2011

Development and individual roles.

Through the collaborative process, especially in initial stages it was very much a level playing field. after initial development, accumulating over 140 sample layouts from work as a large pin-up and critique to lay down the first draft of the book. Opinions, input and suggestions were equal at this stage, and with the group in question allowed for honest and constructive feedback with the same intentions, to produce a content driven publication. Personal individual responsibilities including layout development included the contents page reflecting the concept, and installation photography for the front cover.
