Technically, both of these are generally identical; they only differ in their prerequisites for the import and when checking for object conflicts using the SAP standard system. Prerequisites You are logged on to client 000. You loaded the relevant installation packages into your system. Only import the installation packages when the system load is low since all the application servers should be shut down during the import except for the central application server. Also, no other users should be logged on, otherwise this may cause problems (for example, terminated transactions, synchronization problems). Procedure Since the addon installation is identical to that of the addon upgrade, the installation is used as an example here. 1. Call Transaction SAINT. The initial screen appears. In the upper half of the screen you see the installed addons. The lower half displays the addon packages to be installed. 2. To search in the EPS directory of the current system for additional installation packages, choose Load . If new packages are found, they are then displayed. 3. To prepare the installation for an addon, select the relevant addon and choose Continue . The BestRun Businesses Run SAP r3

Installing and Upgrading AddOns UsingSAINT

UseTransaction SAINT can process two types of delivery parcels: Addon installations and addonupgrades.Technically, both of these are generally identical; they only differ in their prerequisites for the import andwhen checking for object conflicts using the SAP standard system.

PrerequisitesYou are logged on to client 000.You loaded the relevant

installation packages into your system.

Only import the installation packages when the system load is low since all the applicationservers should be shut down during the import except for the central application server. Also, no other users should be logged on, otherwise this may cause problems (forexample, terminated transactions, synchronization problems).

ProcedureSince the addon installation is identical to that of the addon upgrade, the installation is used as anexample here.

1. Call Transaction SAINT. The initial screen appears. In the upper half of the screen you see the installed addons. The lower half displays the addonpackages to be installed.

2. To search in the EPS directory of the current system for additional installation packages, chooseLoad . If new packages are found, they are then displayed.

3. To prepare the installation for an addon, select the relevant addon and choose Continue .

There may be different results now:

The addon may not be installed in this system since you have not met all of the importrequirements. In this case, these import requirements are then named.Other packages (Support Packages or CRTs) are needed for the installation. The missingpackages are named, and the installation is not started.First load the packages you need.If all the import requirements are met and all the necessary Support Packages are available, therelevant queue is displayed (all the packages that make up the installation in the correct order.)You can start the installation process.

4. To start the installation, choose Continue .

After starting the installation, the transaction runs through a set series of phases. If an erroroccurs in one of these phases, the installation is stopped and the error is described, as much aspossible.

When the problem is corrected, choose Continue .

If you cannot correct the problem, you can reset the installation up to the phaseSPDD_SPAU_CHECK (see

Phases in Transaction SAINT) by choosing Back .

In later phases the contents of the database have already been changed. This means that youmust continue with the installation.
