Integration of SAP ERP with SAP EWM as anAdd-OnThis configuration guide provides you with the necessary information for configuring theintegration of SAP ERP and SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).

In this integration scenario, SAP EWM is an add-on application, which physically runs in thesame client as SAP ERP.

In this document, SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) refers to theCore Interface (CIF) and not to the APO component. The CIF is used fortransferring master data between the ERP system and SAP EWM.

In this document, you find references to functions, which were developed forService Parts Management (SPM). SAP EWM, for example, makes use of theprocessing of inbound deliveries function, which was developed for SPM.



Configuration Content for SAP EWMDue to technical reasons, the information provided in this guide had to be structured torepresent more than one integration scenario between SAP ERP and SAP EWM.

This guide describes the complete configuration for integrating SAP ERP and SAP EWM asan add-on. It does not describe the complete configuration for integrating SAP ERP and SAPEWM, where SAP EWM is a component of SAP SCM. For information about this latterintegration scenario, see the configuration guide Integration of SAP ERP with SAP EWM.

In this guide, the sections in each information object that are relevant for the integration ofSAP ERP and SAP EWM as an add-on are labeled as follows:

Procedure for the ERP 2005 to EWM 5.1 Connection

The integration of SAP ERP and SAP EWM as an add-on may fail if you do notrefer to the sections labeled accordingly and follow the procedure describedtherein.

In addition, you must ensure that you follow the configuration steps in exactlythe order in which they are presented in this document. If you do not carry outthe steps in this order, the system configuration may fail.



Information for System AdministratorsSystem administrators have to make specific settings for the integration of SAP ERP and SAPEWM before any Customizing activity is carried out.

System ConnectionsPurposeYou can use this process to connect the add-on application SAP Extended WarehouseManagement (EWM) to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

This documentation describes the necessary settings to be made, based on theassumption that an SAP ERP system is used as the back-end system.

If you use a different system, you have to make similar connections andsettings.

Process Flow

Ensure that you follow the steps in exactly the order in which they are presentedin this document. If you do not carry out the steps in this order, the systemconfiguration may fail.

Configuration Settings for the ERP SystemPurposeYou can use this process to make configuration settings in the ERP system, which areneeded for the integration with SAP EWM. By connecting the two applications you cantransfer data from the ERP system that is relevant for processes in SAP EWM.

Creating an RFC User in ERPUseYou can use this procedure to create a user for the Remote Function Call (RFC) connectionof your systems.

1. To create the required RFC users, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose ToolsAdministration User Maintenance Users (alternatively, enter transaction codeSU01).

2. In the User field, enter the name of the RFC user.

Naming the Logical System for the Connection toSAP EWMUseYou can use this procedure to name the logical system, which is used in the Remote FunctionCall (RFC) connection to SAP EWM.

This is a cross client-activity.

2. Define the logical system for SAP SCM, for example define SCMCLNT001.




For the integration of SAP ERP and SAP EWM as an add-on only one clientexists. To enable communication from the ERP system to SAP EWM, however,it is necessary to create a dummy logical system for SAP EWM.

Specifying the SAP APO Release

In this document, SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) refers to theCore Interface (CIF) functionality and not to the APO component.

UseYou can use this procedure to specify the system type and release number of the targetsystem you are connecting to.

PrerequisiteYou have named the target system. For more information on naming the target system, seeNaming the Logical System for Connection to SAP EWM [Page 16].

Transferring Material Master DataUseYou can use this procedure to reduce the amount of material master data being transferredbetween the ERP system and SAP EWM. By carrying out this procedure, you will be able toselect specific warehouse numbers.

Procedure



1. In Customizing for the ERP system, choose Integration with other mySAP.comComponents Extended Warehouse Management Assign Warehouse Number toWarehouse Number of Decentralized SCM System.

2. Make entries in the following fields:

a. WhN, for example 001 or EW1

b. Whse no. Description

c. WHNDecSCM, for example 0001 or EWM1

3. Choose Save.




ResultA new input field, the Warehouse Number field, is now available on the screen for setting upthe integration model. You can now specify the warehouse numbers relevant to you whencreating the integration model in the ERP system. Activating Business Transaction Events (BTEs)UseYou can use this procedure to activate business transaction events (BTEs) in the ERPsystem. By activating BTEs the system replicates changes to the master data in the ERPsystem to the target system.

Procedure


Procedure for the ERP 2005 to SCM 5.0 Connection4. On the SAP Easy Access screen in the ERP system, execute transaction code FIBF.

A screen named SAP Business Framework:Business Transaction Events appears.

5. On the menu, choose Settings Identification SAP Applications.


6. Confirm the message.

7. Look for entries ND-APO and NDI.

8. Set the Application Active indicator.

Configuring Change Transfers for Master DataUseYou can use this procedure to ensure that the system landscape reflects all changes to themaster data in the ERP system.

2. In the Selection Criteria frame, enter:

a. the name of the integration model in the Model Name field, for example IMEWM1.

c. The name of the APO application in the APO Application field, for example EWM.

3. In the Special CIF Settings frame, set the Do Not Issue Warning in Case of Parallel CIFLoad indicator.

4. In the Transfers Business Partners frame, enter the number 2 in the Create BusinessPartner field.

5. Choose Execute.

The Activate or Deactivate Integration Model screen appears.

6. In the frame on the left, choose the APO Application, for example EWM.

Your integration model appears in the frame on the right.

7. In the frame on the right, choose the relevant line and choose the Active/Inactivebutton.

The status of your integration model is displayed in the New Status field.

Creating Business Partners for WarehousesUseYou can use this procedure to create a business partner for each warehouse maintained inSAP EWM.

PrerequisitesThe data for the plant and the business partner for the plant has been transferred from theERP system via the Core Interface (CIF).

Procedure



1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Extended Warehouse ManagementMaster Data Maintain Business Partner. Alternatively, execute transaction code BP.

2. In the Business Partner field, select the business partner that you transferred via theCore Interface (CIF).

3. In change mode, add the following roles: BBP000, BBP003, CRM000, and CRM002 byselecting them in the Change in BP role field. After selecting each role save yoursettings.

4. On the Identification tab, in the Identification Numbers frame check if the data for thebusiness partner has been transferred from the ERP system.

a. If you transferred a customer, the value CRM002 is automatically created.

If you wish to add the IDType CRM004 to your customer it can only bemaintained if you do not set the Display Only indicator in the Customizingactivity Define Identification Categories. For more information, see Cross-Application Components SAP Business Parnter Business Parnter BasicSettings Identification Numbers Define Identification Categories.

b. If you tranferred a vendor, the value CRM004 is automatically created.

5. If the data has been transferred, you have to define an additional entry for the businesspartner plant (CRM011).

If the data has not been transferred, you can define the business partnersindividually by creating separate entries. Refer to the following table for anexample of the values .

Activating Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets)Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets) allow you to configure additional functions, which arenot configured via Customizing.

For the integration of SAP EWM with an ERP system, you need to activate the standard BCSet for delivery, see Activating BC Sets for Delivery [Page 116].

In addition to the BC Sets for delivery, you need to activate BC Sets for WarehouseManagement (WM), for more information see Activating BC Sets for Warehouse Management(WM) [Page 117].

Activating a BC Set copies all data from the BC Set into the original tables. Theexisting entries in the original tables are overwritten.

BC Sets can only be activated if there is no production client in the system.




Activating BC Sets for DeliveryUseYou can use this procedure to activate Business Configuration (BC) Sets for delivery.

1. In Customizing for SAP SCM, choose Extended Warehouse Management Cross-Process Settings Copy Warehouse Number Customizing. Alternatively, executetransaction code /SCWM/LGNUM_COPY.

2. Copy all warehouse number-dependent entries in the Customizing tables and check thedata.

3. If necessary, repair the text that has been overwritten by copying the warehousenumbers. For repairing the text, see Defining Warehouse Numbers [Page 74].

4. Choose Save.




1. In Customizing, choose SCM Extended Warehouse Management ExtendedWarehouse Management Cross-Process Settings Copy Warehouse NumberCustomizing. Alternatively, execute transaction code /SCWM/LGNUM_COPY.

2. Copy all warehouse number-dependent entries in the Customizing tables and check thedata, for example copy 0001 to EWM1.

2. Create two additional storage bins for the goods receiving (GR) and goods issuing (GI)zones. You should name the storage bins as follows:

Functions Supply Chain Planning Interface Core Interface Advanced Planner andOptimizer Integration Model Create. Alternatively, execute transaction code CFM1.

5. On the menu, choose Go To Variant Get Variant.

6. Enter or select the name of the variant, which you previously created, for exampleVIMEWM1.

7. Choose Execute.

8. Select the following objects:

a. Materials

b. Customers

c. Vendors

d. Batches

9. For each object, make a selection by using the Special Restrictions button and enteringonly those objects that you want to work with in SAP EWM.

If you work with classified batches, you can set special restrictions. To set thespecial restrictions, set the Class/Charact indicator in the Materials IndependentObjects frame.

Choose the Special Restrictions button and enter the following:

A in the Org. area ind. field

023 in the Class Type field

10. Save the changed integration model as a variant, for example VIMEWM1.

11. Choose Execute.

12. Choose Generate IM.



Creating a Variant for Deleting Inactive IntegrationModelsUseYou can use this procedure to create a variant which will be used to delete inactive integrationmodels. Integration models should be deleted for performance reasons.

Procedure



1. On the SAP Easy Access screen of the ERP system, choose Logistics CentralFunctions Supply Chain Planning Interface Core Interface Advanced Planner andOptimizer Delete. Alternatively, execute transaction code CFM7.

2. Enter data in the following input fields:

a. Model, for example IMEWM1.

b. Logical System, for example SCMCLNT001 or P6QEWM800.

c. APO Application, for example EWM.

3. Set the Select Inactive IMs Only indicator.

4. Save as a variant, for example VIMEWMDEL.





Creating a Variant for Activating IntegrationModels for Background ProcessingUseYou can use this procedure to create and activate integration models for periodic (hourly)background processing.

Procedure



1. On the SAP Easy Access screen of the ERP system, execute transaction code CFM3.

2. Enter data in the following input fields:

a. Model, for example IMEWM1.

b. Logical System, for example SCMCLNT001 or P6QEWM800.

c. APO Application, for example EWM.

3. Set the following indicators:

a. Ignore Faulty Queue Entries

b. Do Not Issue Warning in Case of Parallel CIF Load

4. Enter the value 2 in the Create Business Partner field.

5. Save as a variant, for example VIMEWM1BACK.



ResultThe system automatically retrieves the variant of the integration model and activates it in abackground job.



Scheduling Background JobsUseYou can use this procedure to schedule background jobs for transferring master data from theERP system.

PrerequisitesYou have defined variants for:

deleting inactive integration models

enhancing the integration model for additional data transfer

activating integration models for background processing

Procedure



1. On the SAP Easy Access screen in the ERP system, execute transaction code SM36.

2. Enter the name of the job, for example EWMTRANSFER.

3. Specifiy the Job class and Status.

4. Define the steps for the job as follows:

a. Create step no. 1 by choosing Step.

b. Define step no. 1 in the ABAP program frame:

enter RIMODDEL in the Name field

enter the name of the variant, for example VIMEWM1DEL, in the Variantfield.

enter EN in the Language field.

Choose Save.

The Step List Overview screen appears.

c. Create step no. 2 by choosing the Create button.

d. Define step no. 2 in the ABAP program frame:

enter RIMODGEN in the Name field

enter the name of the variant, for example VIMEWM1, in the Variant field.


Choose Save.

e. Create step no. 3 by choosing the Create button.

f. Define step no. 3 in the ABAP program frame:

enter RIMODAC2 in the Name field



enter the name of the variant, for example VIMEWM1BACK, in the Variantfield.


Choose Save.





Specifying Start Conditions for Background JobsUseYou can use this procedure to specify the start conditions for background jobs.

PrerequisitesYou have scheduled a background job, see Scheduling a Background Job [Page 126].

Procedure



1. On the SAP Easy Access screen in the ERP system, execute transaction code SM36.

2. Enter the name of the job, for example EWMTRANSFER.

3. Choose Start Condition.

The Start Time screen opens.

4. Choose Date/Time.

5. Enter values in the following fields:

a. Scheduled start

b. No Start After

6. Set the Periodic job indicator.

7. Choose Period values.

The Period Values screen opens.

8. Select Hourly and save.

9. On the Start Time screen choose Save.



ResultThe background job will start at the specified times and time intervals.



Final Configuration Settings for SAP EWMPurposeYou can use this process to make the final configuration settings in SAP EWM after you havetransferred the additonal data from the ERP system.

PrerequisitesYou have made the necessary configuration settings to transfer data from the ERP system toSAP EWM, see Additional Data Transfer to SAP EWM via the Core Interface (CIF) [Page121].

ResultYou have completed the integration of SAP ERP with SAP EWM as an add-on.



Enhancing the Business Partner RoleUseYou can use this procedure to enhance the business partner roles for all vendors andcustomers after their data has been transferred from the ERP system via the Core Interface(CIF).

You should check that the necessary business partner roles have beenassigned to the business partners, whenever you transfer business partnersfrom the ERP system to SAP EWM. If you do not enhance the business partnerroles accordingly, SAP EWM displays warning messages.

Procedure



1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, execute transaction code BUP2.

2. In display mode, enter or select a name for the business partner in the BusinessPartner input field.

3. Check that the following business partner roles are available by selecting them in theChange in BP role field:

a. Role BBP000 for vendors

b. Roles CRM000 (sold-to party) and CRM002 (ship-to party) for customers

If they are not available, you have to add them to the business partner.

4. Switch to change mode.

5. Add a role by selecting it in the Change in BP role field.

6. Enter the necessary information.


8. To add additional roles, repeat steps no. 5 to 7.
