Installing a VOR Antenna on Zenith’s “Flying Rudder” by Bill Bartlett Cutout hole using the antenna gasket as a template. Dill two holes to accommodate appropriate nut-plates or rivnuts. Deburr and smooth edges. Check antenna connections clearance with cut out. Antenna connections must not come in contact with the rudder. Add a dielectric edge protection if required. Or, coat your connections with electrician’s liquid tape. I used a nut-plate for the forward hole; and, a rivnut for the aft hole. 6T4-4 Vertical Tail Spar wouldn’t allow room for a nut plate.
