1 About this guide

1.1 Read me first

Please read this guide carefully before using the device to ensure safe and proper use. Softing does notassume any liability for damages due to improper installation or operation of this product.

1.2 Target audience

This guide is intended for experienced operation personnel and network specialists responsible forconfiguring and maintaining field devices in process automation networks. Any person using a TACC musthave read and fully understood the safety requirements and working instructions in this guide.

1.3 Typographic conventions

The following conventions are used throughout Softing customer documentation:

Keys, buttons, menu items, commands and otherelements involving user interaction are set in bold fontand menu sequences are separated by an arrow

Open Start à Control Panel à Programs

Buttons from the user interface are enclosed inbrackets and set to bold typeface

2 About TACC

TACC stands for TH AMS Communication Components, a software solution developed jointly by EmersonProcess Management and Trebing & Himstedt (T+H), now Softing Industrial Automation GmbH (Softing).

TACC is an extension to the Emerson AMS Device Manager for central managing HART field devices overPROFIBUS. Using TACC with a HART Over PROFIBUS interface you can view and configure HART fielddevices that are connected to PROFIBUS remote I/O subsystems via a Softing PROFIBUS interface (TH LINKPROFIBUS, PROFIusb etc.).

2.1 Intended use

TACC is designed and intended to connect the AMS Device Manager to PROFIBUS gateways for HART OverPROFIBUS communication. Any other use is not intended. Follow the instructions in this guide on how tointegrate TACC in your AMS Device Manager.

2.2 Product download

The TACC software package is available for download from the Softing product page and download center.

2.3 System requirements

§ At least 50 MB of available disk space on the system drive for these files.

§ One of the following operating systems and versions:

ü Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise SP1 (32-bit/64-bit)

ü Windows 10 Professional/Enterprise (64-bit)

ü Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit)

ü Windows Server 2016 (64-bit)

Note

To use TACC, your AMS must have an activated HART Over PROFIBUS license.Please contact the Emerson Global Service Center at ap-sms@ap.emersonprocess.com fordetails.

2.5 Supported software

TACC supports the following software:

§ AMS Device Manager 14.1.1

§ AMS Device Manager 14.0

§ AMS ValveLink Snap-On application version 13.4

§ IACC (mostly for Router DTM FF) version 2.3.1

§ PACTware version 3.6

Router DTM is only supported for the following operating systems:

§ Windows XP SP3 English

§ Windows Server 2003 SP2 English

3 Installation

This chapter will guide you step by step through the installation the TACC software.

NoteBefore you proceed with the installation make sure you have installed the latest version ofthe AMS Device Manager.

Note

With the installation of TACC you will automatically uninstall any earlier version of thesoftware. Parameterization and configuration data of the gateways are applied to the newversion. See the Hardware Guide for more configuration details.

1. Go to the Softing Industrial website (https://industrial.softing.com) and select the TACC softwarefrom the TACC product page or the Download Center.

2. Login with your email and password. If you have no login credential you must first register yourself. Follow the login screen for details.

3. Download the software file for your operating system (32 bit or 64 bit).

4. Double-click the TACC setup.exe file you downloaded.>The InstallationShield Wizard is opened.

5. Click [Next].

6. Read the licence agreement carefully.If you have questions, you can [Cancel] the installation at this point and and contact us. Click [Print] ifyou want to print the license agreement to a PDF or on a printer.

7. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click [Next].

8. Enter your User Name and Organization and click [Next].

9. Change the suggested destination folder or click [Next] if you want to proceed with the foldersuggested by the system.

10. Choose who you want to have access to TACC on your computer.

11. Click [Install] to install the TACC software.While the installation is in progress, the status bar of the installation wizard shows the different stepsthat are being executed. If you want to abort the installation, click [Cancel] button. The installationwizard will undo all modifications that have been made to your computer up to this point. Otherwise,wait until the installation is completed.

Note

When you install a Softing product for the first time, you will be asked in a dialoguewindow if you to trust the publisher. Activate the option Always trust software fromSofting AG if you do not want to be asked in subsequent installations and select [Install]to start the installation.

Note

To use TACC immediately you must first restart your computer.

12. Click [Next] to restart your computer immediately or [No] if you don't want to use TACC right away.
