Installation Guide ClearOS 6.3.0 Boot the Computer with ClearOS 6.3.0 Installation CD/DVD or ISO.
1. Select Install or upgrade ClearOS 6.3.0

5. Select Basic Storage device, if your hard drive is locally attached.
6. Storage Device Warning, Click yes, discard any data.
7. Give a Name to your system. You may Click on Configure Network button if you want to
configure Network during installation.

Go to the Wired tab, select the network interface (probably eth0) and click on Edit...:
Mark the Connect automatically checkbox and go to the IPv4 Settings tab and select Manual in the
Method drop-down menu. Fill in one, two, or three nameservers (separated by comma) in the DNSservers field (e.g. 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4), then click on the Add button next to the Addresses area. Now giveyour network card a static IP address and netmask (in this tutorial I'm using the IP address
192.168.0.100 and netmask 255.255.255.0 or 24 for demonstration purposes; if you are not sure about
the right values, http://www.subnetmask.info might help you). Also fill in your gateway (e.g.192.168.0.1) and click on the Apply... button:

The network configuration is now finished. Click on the Next button:
Note: Click Wired tab and click on add button. Select Connect automatically, go to ipv4 settings tab
and select Method and select Manual in drop down. Fill address box with IP Address, Netmask &
Gateway. In this howto’s I’m using IP Address 192.168.50.20 for this system. The IP Address may
differ in your environment.

8. Select nearest city in your time zone.
9. Enter root password.
10. Select Partition types as per your need.

11. Verify Partitions or you can edit filesystem partition If you like.
12. Select Write changes to Disk .
13. Filesystem formatting.

14. Bootloader options. You can give bootloader password to enhance security.
15. Installation started, this may take several minutes.

16. Installation completed, Please remove CD/DVD and reboot system.
17. After reboot, First screen of Clear OS.
18. Post installation, you will get below screen where we can use browser to configure ClearOS 6.3.0 using URL to connect web interface (https://192.168.50.20:81 ).

19. Open ClearOS Web Interface in a browser with root user and password for initial configuration.

20. Installation Wizard will come up and follow the instructions as it says.

Select your network mode. Most people will use ClearOS in a local network, so Private ServerMode (No Firewall) is the correct choice for this scenario:
22. In the next two steps the network is configured. We can just click on Next because we have already
configured the network during the ClearOS installation:

24. In the next step the wizard checks if new updates are available. Click on Next to install them:
25. The updates are now being installed. Click on Next afterwards:

28. Now that you have a ClearOS account, you can register this server. Fill out the form and click on
Register System:

30. Fill in your domain. As I'm using server1.example.com as the hostname, I specify example.com
here:
31. Make sure the correct hostname is filled in and click on Next:

32. Select the correct time zone:
33. Now we come to the marketplace. It has multiple categories (e.g. Server, Network, Gateway,System) from which you can select services to install. Some of them are free, for others you have to
pay. Select the services you want to provide (e.g. a print server and a Samba file server):

If you choose an app that requires payment, you will have to authenticate now and provide your
payment details.
34. Afterwards, you will see a list of your selected apps. To install them, click on Download and
Install:
35. The selected apps are now being downloaded and installed. Click on Finish Install Wizard

36. Now that the Install Wizard has finished, you will see the ClearOS dashboard. In the menu on the
left you will find menu entries for your installed apps so that you can manage these services.
37. You will always find a User Guide link on all service pages so that you can read the appropriate
documentation in case you don't know what to do:
