Install BCI link on any platform. 1. Start as db2bmx user 2. Double‐click the batch file InstallBCILink.bat, a. For the RP5800 (or having Windows 7) the file is located in the folder D:\bmx\BCILink b. For the other computers (or having Windows XP) the file is located under the folder D:\bmx\bciinstall ‐3.1.0.0 3. Double‐click in the BCI Link icon, in the desktop, to start the BCI link application. 4. Login as db2bmx

7. ThengotothetabRS232configuration,iftheconnectiontobesetuptoyourLISorLIMS,isserial.
8. SelectAdd.

9. Thewindowbelowdisplays.ConfigurethelinkaccordingtoyourpreviousconfigurationofBCIRS232orwiththesamesettingsastheLISorLIMSalreadyexisting.
Bydefault:
Choseanametothisconnection(thisnamemustbethesameasthenameinsertedintheVIDASApplication)
Activatethelink,byenablingtheoptionisActive
SetthecomporttoCOM3.
BaudRateto9600.
Clickok

10. Aftersettingtheconnection,selectthelinkandsavethisconfiguration ,confirm.
11. Returntotheconnectionsupervision andcheckthattheconnectionbetweentheBCIlinkandtheLISisvisible.

12. Clickthegreenarrows (betweentheLISBCIlinkandBCIlinkVIDAS)tostartthecommunication.
13. GototheVIDASapplicationorstartit.SelectnavigationtreeinthemainmenuandthentheoptionConfiguration,youwillhaveaccesstothemenubelow.

14. SelectoneoflinkRS232andtheninsertthenameyouhavechoseninthepreviouspoint9(writeexactlythesamename),andinaccordancewiththeLISselectfieldsthatarepossibletoconfiguretouploadanddownloadandattheendEnabletheconnection.
15. IfyoureturntotheBCILinkwindowyoushouldseethelinkbetweentheBCILinkandtheVIDASPC,likethepicturebelow.

16. ThesetupandconfigurationonBCILinkandVIDASPCisfinished.
