This is one of my Enterprise System assignment and it takes me days to install this program and Compiere 3.3 (will be posted soon later); siao a! because I am too dumb to ask friends about it and try to solve this by myself.

I am composing this tutorial to install Oracle XE because I have gone so much trouble in installing this software, and I succeeded so I hope this will help you during installation (^^*)

So I share this tutorial for you who have difficulties in installing Oracle XE 11G for Windows 7 64 bits, since the installer itself is set for Windows 7 32 bit.

There might be some glitches during installation (because the Software is designed for Windows 7 32 bits, while you're using Windows 64 bits--otherwise you won't be meeting the same problems that will be stated below) and I'll show you how I went through those problems until it is installed successfully in my laptop.

The reason I am writing this is because I've been googling for days to install this program and it took me tutorial pages (more than 10 links of websites and blogs I opened) to install this holy program.

I hope by writing down all glitches for installing Oracle XE 11G it will save you a lot of time for reading this one page here rather than googling until page 8++.Installing Oracle Express 11G for Windows 7 (64bits)

Before reading further, you must make sure that: Your OS is Windows 7 64 bits (you don't say); to confirm this please see the properties of "My Computer". You're going to stay in front of your laptop for quite a while (because installing takes a lot of time)~~~~(- -*) You got to get some snacks and drinks ready. Please be mentally and physically ready--I was stressed a bit while installing this and failed through the way--haha!

First step is, you have to successfully download the Oracle XE11G file from the website: here.You may need to register yourself to Oracle website before downloading anything.

Extract the zipped folder you've downloaded, and run the "setup.exe" file from OracleXE112_Win32\DISK1\setup.exe.Note: please run the installer as Administrator.

Installation happens like usual. You just have to wait for it installing for a while (*-)

After this, the first problem will occur (commonly for Windows 7 64 bits), you'll find this dialogue:

The installer is unable to instantiate the file C:\Users\ \KEY_XE.reg. This file does not appear to exist.
