E mpowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors is

essential to build stronger economies, achieve

internationally agreed goals for development and sus-

tainability, and improve the quality of life for women,

men, families and communities. The private sector is a key partner

in efforts to empower women. Current research demonstrating that

gender diversity helps businesses perform better signals that self-

interest and common interest can come together.

SEED TECH at VTC (Vocational Training Center) is

providing an equal opportunity to earn for their families using a

unique techniques. The graduates from the Sewing and Tailoring

classes are been hired to stitch uniforms of SEED EDUCATION 11 adopted schools.

Women Empowerment

I brahim Hyderi is a village at the sea cost of Karachi with a total population of 80,000 people according

to census 1998. .Approximately 53% of the total population is male while 47% are female. Out of the

total population, only 5% population are secondary school qualified. All the men are fisher while

women stays at home.

Though the trend is very positive for women education as compared to men, but most of the women still in

this era stays at home their whole life and couldn’t pursue the basic education.

Keeping this mind, SEED Pakistan initiated the adult literacy program at SEED TECH the first of its kind in

Ibrahim Hyderi. In this program SEED TECH teach the students how to read and write at a very basic level.

WE teach them to first recognize the word through vocal sound which helps them in reading and later on

writing.

So far SEED TECH helped more than 50 students ranging between the age of 20-45 in getting the basic

knowledge that also helps them in their regular activities.

Adult literacy

G uest appearances are always motivational for the students, SEED TECH has a history

of calling such people who has raise from the grassroots level to a successful individu-

al in the same society.

Mr. Shahbaz Alam, Head of HR Operations UBL Bank was invited as the guest speak-

er. He narrated his life story from an ordinary vendor to the Head of HR Operations. More than

200 students of SEED TECH were motivated by his Autobiography.

CORPORATE VISITS

A t SEED TECH, we firmly believe in on

hand experience sharing. As we

prepare our students to work in the

corporate sector, it is always a pleas-

ure when large corporation visits to SEED TECH to

share their company experiences and products,

hence linking the SEED TECH trades with their

practices and provide the opportunity to work for

them. Microsoft visited the SEED TECH in May,

2016. They share the information about new technologies and teach the positive use of tools like

Twitter, Facebook etc to market their skills.
