BodyShop News Australia is a fresh, in-depth and professional magazine aimed at owners, operators and managers of auto body shops throughout Australia. The first issue was published in September 2000. The end user as well as the decision maker is kept in touch with the latest in available equipment, up-to-date news and technical stories from Australia and around the world.

Who are the people of BodyShop News Australia? BodyShop News International Pty Ltd is the company behind this established publication. The publishing and broadcasting company, which also publishes BodyShop News Gulf and BodyShop News Asia, also owns BodyShop News Africa and BodyShop News Korea. It is headed by Michel A Malik, who has more than 35 years of experience in motoring, publishing, editorial, advertising and sales. Michel is constantly in touch with what is going on in the industry through personal contacts as well as his regular visits to most trade fairs and conferences and many invitations to several clients’ manufacturing plants. He is a recognised speaker at various collision-oriented conferences, symposiums and seminars throughout the world such as NACE (USA), Automechanika (various), AMR (China) as well as others. Michel is a founding member and was a regular speaker at the highly regarded ‘International Bodyshop Industry Symposium’ (IBIS). Michel also prepares and presents the weekly motoring radio programme “The World on Wheels” every Saturday morning on Sydney radio and on the Internet.

Albert Malik is BodyShop News Australia’s Managing Editor. He joined the company in 2005 as motoring editor, moved into the editor’s chair 10 years on and became Managing Editor a few years later. Albert is a communications graduate (Journalism).

Darren House, Editor of BodyShop News Australia, has spent a lifetime in automotive journalism. He began his career with Australian motorsport magazines, Auto Action and Chequered Flag before contributing to titles such as Performance Street Car, Fast Fours & Rotaries, Street Machine and Unique Cars. Darren has also contributed to the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association magazine, Automotive Aftermarket.

Ann McAllister, former editor of BodyShop News Australia, has been Editor-at-Large for many years bringing specialised stories and articles. Ann is also a communications graduate and has more than 30 years of experience in the body shop industry.
