Associate in General Insurance (AINS) Q&A

    1. Do I have to take the classes in order (21, 22A, then 22B, then 22C, then 23A and so on)? It isrecommended to take AINS 21 before sections AINS 22 and AINS 23, although it is not required. There is nomandatory requirement that you take 21 before 22, or A before B, for example. When we are in your town, takewhatever class is offered at that time. Each module is self contained; so, you'll be able to take them in any order.Look up the dates that we'll be in your city, mark your calendar to be in class, and don't worry about what orderyou take them in.

    2. If I've taken one of the segments before, do I have to take it again? NO, if you've already passed any of theAINS tests anytime in the past, you don't have to take the test again. We do encourage attendance at all sevenclasses, since some material may have changed and you'll get CE anyway. But, for example, if you already took

AINS 22, then you don't need any of our three AINS 22 classes. You'll still need all of the AINS 21 classes and allof the AINS 23 classes. This works for any part of the series you've already passed.

    3. How long w ill you continue the AINS series? As long as possible! We need 1525 registrations per courseto bring a class to your city. We have a contract with the Insurance Institute for the program to continue throughDecember 2013, and we hope to continue renewing that contract indefinitely if demand remains high.

For 2011, member single-day classes are $225 and the two-day classes are $375 (registration for non-membersis extra). Tuition includes an AINS textbook, which will be a valuable reference later, and initial test fees! Thereare nine one-hour tests during the eight days of AINS classes. Test will be given at the completion of each class.

AINS books are not shipped in advance. You will have the option of requesting an advanced copy of the book byselecting the optional $15 shipping fee. We must caution you that we cannot give you another copy of the book ifyou forget to bring it to class. It is not necessary to have the book in advance in order to take or pass the class.

You'll find this to be a great value compared to other designation classes. And remember: YOU GET CE EVEN IFYOU DON'T TAKE THE TESTS, AND EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR AINS DESIGNATION!
