Gordon & MacPhail

Gordon & MacPhail is an independent retailer based in Elgin. The store holds a dedicated Whisky Room, an eclectic collection of wine and spirits, a locally sourced delicatessen and a varied grocery section.The shop has recently won an Icon of Whisky Award for the best Whisky Retailer – Single Outlet for the second time after winning in 2009.

The Green Grocer, Inverurie, offers a wide selection of local produce and wholefoods presented with traditional values of customer service. A veg box system is operated and provides fresh fruit and vegetables (locally sourced where possible) to customers each week. The shop also stocks a wide variety of gluten free, dairy free and specialist diet foods.

Brewmeister

Brewmeister was established in May 2012 in Deeside was the idea of Lewis Shand and John McKenzie, both students at the time who had a passion for great craft beer. Our products are available in most independent off licenses in the UK and we now export around Europe and Asia.

Deeside Brewery Ltd

Deeside Brewery Ltd is an independent, Scottish craft beer producer, based in Banchory, Royal Deeside. The brewery was re-launched in 2012 by its current owner and produces a range of lagers, beer and stouts, which are sold in bars, restaurants, delis and cafes across the North East of Scotland, as well as a number of national suppliers.

Felicity’s Chocolate

Established in 2012, Felicity’s Chocolate produce hand-made, individual and unique graphic print Belgian chocolate novelty shapes and have now extended their range with taster bars and chocolate fudge.

Pulsetta Foods Ltd

Pulsetta Foods was established in 2011/12 to provide an innovative range of tasty, naturally nutritious, gluten-free and free-from baked foods. We are already a multi-award winning company and have a manufacturing partnership with J G Ross (Bakers) Ltd who have invested in a dedicated ‘free-from’ manufacturing site in Portsoy, creating additional employment in Aberdeenshire.

Speyside Craft Brewery Ltd

Speyside Craft Brewery opened for business in 2012 and was the first commercial brewery in Moray at that time. Their range of beers, all designed to be distinctive and memorable, are named after Moray Speyside icons which has helped gain local appeal.

The Little Fudge Shop

Started in 2012, we are an independent fudge business based in the North East of Scotland. We have combined old and new recipes, from childhood and the current day to create our wonderful homemade fudge.

J G Ross is an award winning craft baker employing 320 people producing a wide range of baked goods, pies and sandwiches to its own retail outlets and wholesale customers throughout the North East. Being a 2nd generation family business we believe it is essential to have fully trained and respected staff all working together and supporting one another. At our recent 50th anniversary awards dinner 38 staff received gifts in recognition of 10 years service or over.

Macphie of Glenbervie Ltd

Macphie of Glenbervie is a leading family-owned company with over 80 years’ experience and success, specialising in developing and manufacturing premium food ingredients and solutions from our two sites in Glenbervie and Tannochside. Our products are designed to meet the needs of today’s busy bakers, chefs and food manufacturers, and are used by restaurants, coffee shops, manufacturers and retailers worldwide.

Grampian Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year 2014

Lewis ShandBrewmeisterWith just a £5000 student loan, young entrepreneurs Lewis Shand and John McKenzie found the bottle (pun intended) to start their own brewery. When Lewis was training to be a lawyer, he and John were on a road trip to the West Coast of Scotland…and Brewmeister was born in the Deeside village of Kincardine O’Neil in May 2012.

Jamie HutcheonCocoa Ooze LimitedJamie Hutcheon set up handmade chocolate company, Cocoa Ooze, in 2008 at the tender age of 17. Since then, Jamie has opened up two busy coffee/chocolate shops, growing his team from 2 to 22 in less than 2 years.

Craig WilsonEat on the GreenCraig Wilson is nominated for this award as founder of one of the North East’s best known fine dining restaurants. Currently celebrating ten years in a business which continues to grow, Craig acknowledges his journey has not been easy; surviving the recession in a challenging location has required innovation, financial focus and an unwavering attention to detail, never compromising on quality.

The award winning bakers have 20 shops and a large number of wholesale customers throughout the North East of Scotland. In 2013 the company opened a dedicated gluten free bakery.
