FAQSWHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES

BETWEEN STUDYING ON ASCITT ROUTE & AT UNIVERSITY?

We have a taught programmejust like a university, but our

programme is taught inschool one day a week across

the year, so you will spendtime in a classroom every

week throughout your course.SCITT programmes arestaffed by practising

classroom teachers andschool leaders who areexperts in their fields.

You gain a lot more schoolexperience as you are in atleast 2 schools across theyear for the whole of the

training programme. Our courses are flexible and

responsive, timetables can bealtered to include extra

sessions and programmescan be changed very quicklyso they are bespoke to each

cohort.

WHAT ARE THE SIMILARITIESBETWEEN STUDYING ON A SCITT

ROUTE & AT UNIVERSITY?The qualification - QTS is

recommended wherever youtrain, we also offer a PGCE aspart of our programmes so all

SCITT trainees receive thesame qualification as those at

university.S tructurally the courses are

similar as we have coretraining every week like auniversity. We also do not

expect you to teach lessons inyour first week, we build upyour contact time as youbecome more confident

across the year. All trainees have a school-

based mentor who meets withthem every week. SCITT staffalso pay you regular visitsgiving you lots of support.Fees & Funding - for non-

salaried trainees, the fees andbursaries are identical for

universities & SCITTs.
