Job Description

Position Opportunity:

Under the general direction of the administrator and working collaboratively with the Business Unit team, this position shall be responsible for investigating and counseling of students and families with excessive attendance problems, conducting pupil accounting field audits and enforcing any statute, rule or interpretation as they pertain to school attendance and pupil accounting and auditing for Ingham ISD and its constituent districts. This position shall also perform various accounting and business functions in the Business Unit. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in business or accounting is preferred.

Minimum of two to four years of progressively more responsible recent and relevant experience in an analytical and problem solving position. Experience in an accounting or auditing position is preferred.

Demonstrates ability to learn, understand, interpret, apply and convey complex rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to provide courteous and accurate information to all levels of staff, students, parents, constituent school districts, community and state agencies, vendors and others. The incumbent is required to handle problem situations in a tactful, courteous and respectful manner.

Analytical ability for problem solving, ability to develop findings and conclusions based on an objective evaluation of all pertinent facts.

Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

Ability to implement new initiatives for continuous improvement of processes and services.

Ability to utilize discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information and documents.

Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member.

This position requires skills in planning, organization of data, and problem solving to include integration and interpretation of data.

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and balance competing priorities.

Ability to be bonded and deputized.

Advanced skills with technology tools to create complex spreadsheets, enter and manipulate data, generate reports and documents in a user-friendly manner, and research and implement new applications.

Ability to evaluate information from multiple sources in order to assure compliance with regulations and policies including but not limited to Ingham ISD Board policies and Federal and State regulations.

Working Conditions:

The position requires travel throughout Ingham County. On-site duties performed in normal office environment.
