We begin the year 2011 joyful with thefoundation of new missions, attepingto complete the mandate of Our LordJesus Christ: “… go out to the world“   to  serve God in  the poorest of  thepoor. In our missions outside of Brazil, thereligious sisters of the mission houseNuestra Señora de Copacabana (OurLady of Copacabana), in El Alto,Bolivia, are located in a Large Shelterhouse. They are also ministering in thestreets, together with the poor whosuffer so much.

São Paulo, the mission house SagradoCoração de Jesus (Sacred Heart ofJesus) in functioning as our centraloffice, where the mission is to givesupport to the whole community inmany diverse needs.In a poor neighborhood of Aracajú,Sergipe, (Our Lady of the Streets) ourreligious sisters are giving theirattention to women in situation ofprostitution, and youth.

In the United States, in the City ofKansas, three of our religious sistersplan to begin a new mission house, ourLady of America in August, serving thepoor of that area.In a project of CNBB (National Councilof Brazilian Bishops) in Lichinga,Mozambique, Africa, our religioussisters’ mission is with carries of AIDS,and with malnourished children.

Fraternidade “O Caminho” - “The Way”

Many were the struggles to maintainour mission house in the center of SãoPaulo.After many goings and comings wemanaged to rent a house in theneighborhood of Santa Cecília (SaintCecília). The house was verydeteriorated, but with the Grace ofGod, the efforts of our religiousbrothers, beloved children (oursheltered men) benefactors and friends,the house was totally renovated, andthe brothers who live there have alreadybegun their great mission…The youth wholive in subhu-man conditionsin Cracolândia.Daily our religi-ous brothers,together withbrothers andsisters of othermission houses,ay-associates,vocations andfriends, are there, not only to take food,clothing, or water (which is what theyask for the most), but to be togetherwith them, getting close to them, withthe expectation that in a lucid momentwe can offer them help. (It is calledcracolândia, “crack-land”, because ofthe extreme abuse of the drug, crock)Our great desire is to find a place toshelter only the young people whocome from cracolandia, whose situationis very challenging. 

With the certainty that we need tothrow out our nets to fish in the wayGod himself did to get we held on theoth of February, in São Paulo, at themission house Nazaré (Nazareth) thethird encounter “Vinde e Vede” (Comeand See) with the theme “ Do notconform yourself to this world…” (Rm12,2). This vocational encounter has asit ’s objective to orientate andaccompany the young people who seekus out, desiring to embrace ourcharism.

On the day that we celebrated with theHoly Mother Church, the chair of SaintPeter, our small community began ouryear of unity, with the theme “ QUESEJA UM” ( MAY THEY BE ONE)(John 17,22). Based on the prayer thatJesus prayed to God that may be oneas He is united with the Father, ourdesire is to be united with all therestoration of life.With the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass,we entrust to the intercession of theApostle, our jubilee of 10 years, andprepare for our canonical recognitionthat will be granted in Franca. On the3lst of July at 10:00 am.

ries, Poor of Jesus Christ. They cometo the novitiate from our missionsspread throughout diverse regions ofBrazil, as wellas outside of Brazil. TheHoly Sacrifice of the Mass wascelebrated by our founding father,Father Gilson Sobreiro, in CorbéliaParaná, at our male novice house, SãoDamião (Saint Damian).

This year, by the grace of God, ourfounding father, by Divine Inspirationand through his own personalexperience, presented us with two newdocuments that define the place of thepoor (The Poor is the mission) and ofthe Lay-associate (Formation for lay-persons) in our charism. Theparticipation of some brothers andsisters of our community in this Lastdocument was of great importance.
