SCA Cotairboard ors FSC crtifd products! The FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) certication is a furtherstep in responsible bre sourcing.
It tracks FSCcertied mate-rial through the
production pro-cess - from the forest to the
consumer, including all successivestages of processing, transforma-tion, manufacturing and distribu-tion. It is a system that provides in-formation about where the wood orforest based material come from ordoes not come from. It requires thatthe origin of raw materials is iden-tied and that the wood or forestbased materials are traceable fromone operation to the next includ-ing successive stages of processing, transformation and distribution. Inthe source control certication pro-
cess, the entire chain from forestry
operations to nished product mustbe documented.
SCA Containerboard offers FSC cer-tied products from the following mills:Kraftliner mills:

PeoplefromwithinSCA and Leanexperts hired from the outside, ro-tate through this team to developSCA’s Lean leaders of the future.
Early in the programme, the focushas been on manufacturing. Since atrue Lean organisation applies Leanprinciples everywhere, the scope hasnow been expanded to business pro-cesses in supporting functions suchas HR, Finance and the SCA Con-tainerboard Service Centre.
The ultimate goal of a Lean organi-zation is to have a continuous im-provement culture. In other words, we want to have Lean in the DNA.In such a culture, everybody is en-gaged to seek opportunities for im-provement and to implement chang-es to improve.
The focus of a Lean organization ison the Customer. Improvements aretargeting four areas: Safety, Quality,Delivery and Cost. A Lean organi-zation looks at eliminating wastes, reducing variability and increasing exibility to improve in these fourareas.
The principles as described abovehave originally been developed by Toyota (the Toyota Production Sys-tem) and have since been widely adopted in the automotive industry globally. The application is now ex-panding to all kinds of industriesand also beyond manufacturing inhospitals, banks, insurance compa-nies etc...
In 2007, SCA Containerboard started with the implementation of the Lean principles inthe organization. To guarantee a successful transformation towards a Lean company,SCA has built an internal team of experts that supports the different entities with theirvoyage towards Lean.
