Do things for others
Helping people is a good thing to do, plus it makes us happier. If you want to feel good,
do good.
Take care of your body
Being active makes us happier. It instantly improves our mood and can even lift us
out of a depression. So, unplug from technology and get
outside.
Take notice of the world
Be attentive to the things around you — people,
places, all that you can see, hear, touch and taste — and appreciate them.
Take time to stop and smell the roses.
Keep learning new things
Learning gives us a sense of accomplishment and helps boost self-confidence and resilience. Join a club, take a class, play sports, travel
or read.
Have goalsGoals motivate us,
challenge us, help us move forward and give
us a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when we
achieve them.
Be positive Focus on the good
aspects of any situation — the glass being half full rather
than half empty.
Be comfortable with who you are
Learning to accept ourselves and being kinder to ourselves
when things go wrong increases our enjoyment of life, resilience and well-being. It also helps us
accept others as they are.Learn to
bounce backYou can’t change negative
things that happen — stress, loss, failure or trauma — but you can learn from them and take a positive approach to
the outcome.
Be part of something bigger
People who have meaning and purpose in their lives are happier, feel more in control and get more
out of what they do. They also experience less stress, anxiety and
depression.Finding meaning can be anything
from spiritual, to parenting, to doing a job that makes
a dierence.
