Outline - a general description giving the essential features of something but not the detailPurpose - the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists

Subordination - the action or state of subordinating or of being subordinate

Quotative - a grammatical device to mark quoted speech in some languages

Organization -the action of organizing something

Persuade - cause (someone) to do something through reasoning or argument

Introduction

What is an introduction ?An Introduction speech is an opener written to introduce the speaker and the subject they will be talking about.

➢ An introduction is supposed grab the audience attention and interests

- Don’t assume the audience will just listen

- Should be 10 to 15 percent of your speech

➢ Present the purpose of your speech- Speaker should know what they are

talking about- This reminds the speaker to not get off

task ➢ Give reasons to listen

- Establish a connection with the audience

- How is it useful to the audience ? ➢ State your main ideas➢ Have a claim (optional, depends on what

Body

What is a body ?The body of a speech is the center part of the speech that discusses the main ideas and key concepts of the speech.

Conclusion

What is a conclusion ?The conclusion of your speech summarizes your main points and purpose while leaving a lasting impression on your audience.
