Fiona Pocock, Principal at Bosworth believes, “The national press and public bodies can react to exam results with statistics and point towards trends but for us, the results are about individuals! We’ve worked with them usually over several years and have shared their challenges and witnessed some of the hardships they have endured so as to reach their full potential. Our whole staff share in the success of our students and we are thrilled now to have evidence that effort and dedication pay off.” We offer huge congratulations to all of our students who have now moved to the next stage of their careers, they are all success stories in our eyes, but highlighted below are four students who gained places at Cambridge and Oxford: Nicole Gray (British) A*A*A*a achieved in Biology, Psychology, Geography and Maths and is now reading Human Sciences at the University of Oxford. We were delighted to welcome Faria Jan back to Bosworth. Faria is just aboutto start her second year of a degree in Medicine at Imperial College London. She described how her course was structured, and explained how Problem-BasedLearning (PBL) was used to bring theory to life. PBL sessions start with discussing apatient and their symptoms, the medical students then have to research and findout about the disease, learning about anatomy, physiology and biochemistry along theway! She gave advice about writing personal statements; admissions tutors want to get anall-round picture of candidates. Medical applicants should be clear about why they want to study medicine, and convince the admissions tutors that they have the motivation and resilience to finish the course.

BridgeU - Smarter UniversityApplications Bosworth students attended a presentation given by OscarWebb on the university application management systemBridgeU. This system is now on offer to all our futureuniversity applicants. It will allow students to streamline theiruniversity choices across several countries, by inputting theiracademic, professional and social preferences as well ashelping them to build their ideas for their personal statementin the AS year. It also enables us to track eachindividual's progress along their journey. Our aim, as always is to aid students'to make more informed choices.

Thank you to Jess Heaney from Leeds University who came in to talk toour future university applicants. Her presentation, "Making the most of Year 12"

gave students a comprehensive insight into what universitiesare looking for and how competitive places can be.

A-level students wishing to apply for Medicine met withClaire Church from Keele University. They intentlylistened to her presentation “An overview of the School ofMedicine” in which she provided a really interesting insightinto the course options at Keele and theapplication process, including an outline of themultiple mini-interviews. Claire also advised

students to look at the values of the NHSConstitution and consider their importance.

Former Bosworth student Baba (who we mentioned recently forachieving first class results in his exams) kindly visited today tospeak to A-level students about making an application toCambridge. He outlined in detail the application andinterview process for Engineering at St. John’s College. Now inhis final year, he also talked about the importance ofinternships during his degree course, both for future prospectsand depth of knowledge.

considering the successful businesses we were up against and one of which we are immensely proud.

Whilst we normally celebrate our successes via student results and university destinations / competitive degreecourses it was refreshing to also recognise we are a business that takes very seriously the customer serviceangle of what we do.
