Inculcating ICT Entrepreneurship Mindset to Undergraduate Students in UUM Home > Corporate Records > Corporate News 07 Apr 2011 01:58 PM Khairul Mazwan Ibrahim Pati Over 300 undergraduate students attended the 'Seminar Keusahawanan Graduan' organised by the College of Business (COB), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) last Saturday, 2 April 2011. UUM, a prominent local university, well regarded for its business and entrepreneurship courses has been organising many such activities to inculcate awareness and promote entrepreneurship as an alternative to employment for its graduates. Two guest speakers were invited during the seminar namely En. Mohd. Iqbal from Mimrina Enterprise, who is a graduate from UUM with a Business Tourism Degree ; and Cik Khairul Mazwan from Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC). Iqbal shared his experience as a young entrepreneur and the journey that he has undergone, as well as the highs and lows of being an entrepreneur. Meanwhile, Mazwan briefed the students on ICT Entrepreneurship opportunities, local funding and grants provided, as well as how students could start their own entrepreneurship ventures. This programme was attended by YBrs. Associate Prof. Habshah Bakar, Programme Advisor from College of Business; Pn. Rafidah Mahayudin, Centre for University - Industry Relations; Dr Ooi Yeng Kiat, Practical Coordinator, College of Business, etc. UUM's entrepreneurship offerings include a Master of Technopreneurship Programme, Technopreneur Incubator , Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), Program Siswaniaga, Koperasi Usahawan Siswa, Program Perantis Usahawan Siswa, and many more.

Over 300 undergraduate students attended the

'Seminar Keusahawanan Graduan' organised by the

College of Business (COB), Universiti Utara Malaysia

(UUM) last Saturday, 2 April 2011. UUM, a prominent

entrepreneurship courses has been organising many

such activities to inculcate awareness and promote

entrepreneurship as an alternative to employment for

its graduates.
