The conventions, The producerAnd target audience

The pitchFor the band’s music video, I want to use the idea of having a story in with the band playing like such videos as "sabotage" by the Beastie boys, and "3's and 7's" by Queens of the stone age, which both involve the band and a storyline. I want to present the band and video in an old fashioned styled look, similar to how 70's television was shot and presented, such as shows like "the Sweeny" and films like "The good, the bad and the ugly". The story running through the video will be like a 70's police show, with chase and fight scenes. The story will be about rogue policemen who set up means and ways to go undercover into a drug lords den and find the main villain, who is then shown at the end of the video. I want to incorporate the music to fit alongside the video, such as if the music is fast, then the scene will be fast, and the same applying for slow sections within the song.I will add an opening title in a colourful font with the band credits underneath and present it similar to how the beastie boys present the words "sabotage" in their video. As for the band aspect of the video, I want them to be playing within shots and playing in the background of a fight on the beach which will be a dessert setting within the film. This will incorporate them into the story and fit in with the action scenes. Within the story of the film, the band will be hired by the police to set up the criminal.

The band will be playing in certain Places and scenes through out the video..I plan to have action scenes when the music is fast Paced or is in a chorus. If the song slows down I plan onShowing the action clip in slow motion as if it would be Like an old 70’s police show. At the start I will show a credit like an opening font withThe name of the song and band name underneath, asIf it would be the title credits to the show.. The characters dress style will be like an old western With cowboy boots and flares.

InspirationMy inspiration for this video is from similar bands that have created old fashioned styled video’s that would perhaps appeal to the same audience. With the same inspiration, it would be put into the same category and would be shown on similar music channels such as “Q” (when it existed). The video will appeal to the same audience from bands like “the strokes” and the “beastie boys” from which I have taken my main influence on.

Distribution and Target audience

It would be distributed online, over the band’s webpage, to screen on YouTube and sell the song on I tunes. It would be advertised on the band’s twitter and Facebook account, as the target audience of both male and female’s aged from teenagers to young adults would access and hear about music over these websites. It will help show the video to an audience and help make it popular. I would be advertised in magazine’s such as “nme” and “Q”.
