Kaua‘i’s own Malie Organics’ newly introduced mood-boosting, shampoo-and-conditioner sets—fragranced plumeria and mango nectar—sweeten up shower time. The exotic doublet fuses the beauty brand’s hallmarked Hawaiian Hydrosols with delicate floral water essences for a match made in mane heaven. Subtlety aromatic, the plumeria wash-and-condition couple is a sensuous scent that’s hinted with spice and reminiscent of frangipani lei. Soft kisses of citrus and lush tropic green marry with jasmine and milky smooth sandalwood for a pleasing bouquet of peach and earthy blossoms. And users near and far will believe they’ve been transported to paradise with one whiff of the sweet-sassy mango nectar. A cocktail of tropical fruits, breathe in a zesty blend of mango, musk, succulent apricot, juicy orange and papaya for an air of island sunshine that will make your mouth water. Handcrafted in the U.S. using all natu- ral, wild ingredients and honoring Hawaiian tradition, you’ll indulge mind, body and spirit with Malie’s perfumed pampering line for hair. Bonus: This sulfate-free shampoo line makes the pair appropriate for everyday use to keep strands silky-soft. And if you haven’t had the opportunity to say, “aloha” to Malie’s blooming botanic boutique in Ala Moana’s Ewa Wing, we advise you do. malieorganics.com Photo courtesy Malie Organics SOH FINE Honolulu’s haute home atelier, Kaypee Soh, and his Spring-Summer 2016 ready-to-wear fashion line are making Technicolor waves in the Pacific. Good news for fash- ionistas: Soh’s colorful décor textiles are ever-present in his “Over the Rainbow” spring showcase. A man driven by the palettes and materials present in the natural world, Soh’s band of colored clothes comprised a vivid assortment of accessories, handbags, tees and gentlemen’s aloha shirts on the catwalk. Sewing in inspiration from the psychedelic ’60s and ’70s into modern, relaxed island fashions, Soh’s SS16 col- lection complements the urban wahine. Like us, you’ll dig Soh’s clever mix of fabrics: denim with chambray, chiffon in many layers, fabric draping— heavenly hues each intermixed in an alluring way. As inspired by the numerous rainbows shoot- ing up over the islands, the acclaimed designer sews a bold statement into his latest multi-toned threads. While prismatic bows may be com- monplace in the islands, Soh found beauty within the everyday phenomenon: “I noticed how the colors in the rainbow appeared to be reflecting off the water and the plants around me. It was something I hadn’t seen or noticed before. I tried to create this same feeling by using various tones of color on color in this line.” Calling SS16 “all about fashion, style and comfort,” Soh’s kaleidoscope collection merits a shop— and most certainly a second glance.
