In quest of a treasure ...
On a December morning, arrived to Alegrete, in Portugal, three
men in three camels.
We believe they were camels because they had two humps and
the three gentlemen were Kings, because they wore crowns on their
heads.
They reached the castle and soon found some boys that started
running and screaming:
Here they are the three wise men! Here they are the three wise
men!
João said: Who are you and where do you come from?
- We are three Kings and we came from the East. We followed the
star that is on top of your castle and we are searching for an ancient
treasure! - Explained the Three Kings.
The three wise men went to
church and then to the square, where
they found the bandstand.
Soon all the village came to the door to see what was happening.
The three wise men
were seeking the treasure, in
“Sociedade Filarmónica de
Alegrete” where they found
many musical instruments.
Then they passed
through the ancient fountain
where their camels could

water for forty days!...
They went to the Local
bars and asked for directions to the treasure.

Alegrete were the children and, therefore, they should seek the treasure
in Alegrete’s School.
When the Three Wise Man arrived at school, the children were
playing in the playground.
The children already knew
them from the stories they heard
from their parents and grandparents,
and asked if they could ride a camel.
They all had great fun and the Three Wise Man told the children
the story of his journey and their treasure hunt.
The children said they had many treasures in the their life but, in
school, their greatest treasure were their friends.
They also told them that they had friends in Alegrete , in Vale de
Cavalos, in all Portugal and throughout Europe .
They told stories about their English friends, from Gateshead,
their Spanish friends from Santiago de Compostela and their Italian
friends, from Figline Valdarno.
The Three Wise Man were excited about these stories and wanted
to know the British, the Spanish and Italian students to discover the
treasure that seemed to unite every children throughout Europe.
Then, they said goodbye and went to ...
