this weekend: Psalms of Praise (after struggle)

There is a difference between the praise of a child, singing

at the top of their lungs and flinging their arms to the sky

and an someone older saying, ‘God is good’ in the face of

difficult news.

The praise that comes after struggle or in the face of uncer-

tainty is unlike other praise. It’s easy for those on the out-

side to think that we are not hurting because we’re praising

God. But maybe we should think about the way the sun

feels after the storm– we still have some cleaning up to do,

but we can’t help but to bask in it’s warmth.

God, help us to feel your presence in times of struggle like

the warmth of sun after a storm; to have confidence in Your

future for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
