Upgrade instructions for SW Build 3.0.0.43* * For updating from 3.0.0.5 or higher.

Customers with software builds prior to 3.0.0.5 must contact Service for the upgrade.

These instructions apply to upgrading to build 3.0.0.43 on Windows XP workstations ONLY.

Prior to performing the software upgrade Several objective lens parameter settings need to be copied from your current software version to version 3.0.0.43. Follow the steps below to copy the configuration file containing these parameters:

1. Right click on the Windows Start button and select ‘Explore’

2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\GE Healthcare\IN Cell Analyzer 2000\config

3. In this folder is a file named config.xml

4. Right-click on the file and select Rename and change the file name to IN Cell Analyzer 2000.xml

Installing IN Cell Analyzer 2000 SW Build 3.0.0.43

Access to the software upgrade will be either on a CD or through a web link provided by GE Healthcare.

1. Locate the file install_incell_analyzer_2000_3.0.0.43.exe.

2. Save or download the file to the instrument workstation Desktop.

3. Double-click on the installation file icon. The installation wizard will begin.

4. The Introduction window will display the steps to occur during installation. Click Next to

continue.

5. The Uninstall Previous Version pop up window will open. Click Continue Anyway to continue.

6. The License Agreement window displays. Review the agreement and mark the I accept the

terms of the License Agreement radio button. Click Next to continue.

Selecting I do NOT accept the terms of the License Agreement will abort the installation process.

7. On the Choose Install Folder window accept the default location. Click Next to continue.

8. The Pre-Installation Summary window displays the parameters for the install. Click Install to continue.

A progess bar displays during the installation process. An Overwrite Existing File pop up window will display. Click No to continue.

9. On successful installation, the Install Complete window will display. Click Done to continue.

The IN Cell Analyzer 2000 acquisition software Build 3.0.0.43 is now installed.

Installing the prerequisite applications

The upgrade will now continue with the installation of a number of prerequisite applications.

• Microsoft Visual Studio Redistributable.

• QPI SDK v2 Redistributable

• IN Cell Analyzer 2000 Server Installer

The first application to be installed is the Microsoft Visual Studio Redistributable

1. The Visual Studio Redistributable installation wizard begins.

2. At the Welcome window, mark the I have read and accept the license terms checkobx. Click

Install to continue.

3. A progess bar displays during the installation process. On successful installation, the Installation is Complete window will display. Click Finish to continue.

Next, the upgrade will now progress to the installation of QPI SDK v2 Redistributable.

1. At the Welcome window, click Next to continue.

2. At the Program Maintenace window, confirm that the Repair radio button is marked. Click

Next to continue

3. On the Ready to Repair the Program window. click Install to continue.

4. When the update is complete, the Completion window displays. Click Finish to continue

Finally, the upgrade will progress to the IN Cell Analyzer 2000 Server Installer.

1. On the Connect to Scanner window, confirm that the IP address = 159.159.159.1. Click Connect…

Note If you have trouble connecting to the scanner, refer to the Troubleshooting section below.

2. A successful connection message will display, as seen below. Click Next to continue.

3. On the Installing… window, click Install to begin the server installation.

4. On the Install Complete window, click Done to close wizard.

System Initialization After completing the software installation, the IN Cell Analyzer 2000 instrument will automatically re-initialize. During the initialization, the IN Cell Analyzer 2000 runs through diagnostic checks to insure that it is functioning properly. You will notice the sample door open and close and may hear the stage move from one position to another. The green and yellow indicator lights on the front of the instrument will be lit. Once the yellow light goes out, the instrument is ready for use.

Continue to eLicensing setup to license your software.

Troubleshooting Problems connecting to scanner If, after clicking Connect… the software freezes or fails to connect, check the following:

The instrument is connected to the workstation via the provided Ethernet cable.

The Ethernet cable from the instrument to the workstation is connected to the lower Ethernet card on the workstation (the connector closest to the monitor adapter).

Turn off Windows Firewall and retry.

VERY IMPORTANT If the workstation is plugged into a network, it must be unplugged before shutting off the firewall! Unplug the Ethernet cable from the port located closest to the top of the instrument. After installation has completed, turn Windows Firewall back on and plug the network cable back in.

Check to see if any anti-virus software is blocking communication between the instrument and workstation; check with your local IT contact who may have installed such software.
