DGS provides spectrum monitoring systems which focus on supporting communications for:

- Incident response- Large Event Management- Disaster Recovery

Our systems also perform long duration, automated analysis and provide knowledge regarding:

- Usage and Occupancy- Coverage Gaps- Intermittent and Chronic Interference

• Load a channel plan and Identify licensed channels with limited use available for short-term assignment.• Detect network outages for expedient remediation.• Highlight illicit activity, such as drones and wireless jammers.• Locate drones and their associated controllers, to eliminate surveillance and reduce threat.

I n t e r f e r e n c e D e t e c t i o n & C l a s s i f i c a t i o n

• Engage learning engines to identify typical vs. anomalous activity automatically.• Compare channel plans (center frequency/bandwidth) to real-time activity, with automated alarms highlighting variances.• Demodulate (P25, NXDN, DMR, DSTAR and TETRA), to identify quality issues and the presence of unauthorized radios.

• Fixed, distributed sensors provide an unparalleled view into a network environment.• Access information at a network operations center from multiple nodes, on a single pane of glass.

• Remote spectrum analy-sis capability, reduces time required at site.

use case - chronic interferenceTower based radios, at three (3) separate locations entered bypass mode (reset) 15-20 times per week, impacting First Responder communications. After 3 months of investigation by the vendor, the root cause remained unidentified.

DGS Approach: Using the DGS transportable SigBASE™ system, unattended internal (multicoupler connect) and external scanning was completed for a period of 7 days.

Observances

• A Wideband anomaly was detected (Internal Only)• Bandwidth observed for anomaly averaged 900 KHz vs. the expected 12.5 KHz.• Amplitude average for wideband signal was -105 dBm, with periodic as high as -90 dBm.• Correlated observed between:

o the wideband signal amplitude exceeding -95 dBm and bypass condition appearing.o amplitude rise when 2 additional, high powered signals were present simultaneously.

ConclusionEvidence presented regarding the presence of passive intermod (PIM). Cables were replaced at all 3 sites and the bypass issue alleviated.

Total time spent at all 3 sites: 1 hour for setupAutomated Data Collection: 7 DaysTotal time spent analyzing data: 1 hour
