Main changes to the school day

Area Action General safety practises

Children will have their own water bottle and these will be cleaned at the end of each day in the dishwasher

Children can not bring a bag to school Furniture and high use areas are disinfected across the day

Soft furnishings have been removed where possible School are following guidance as set out by Livepool City

Council

Do not bring dogs to school either even if carried in your arms

Main changes to the school day

Area Action Breakfast Club Limited places are available and have been allocated

If you have not had a phone call from staff then unfortunately your child has not been allocated a place

Gates for breakfast club open at 8.00am and close at 8.10am.

You will access breakfast club via the gate on Douglas Road (near to the allotment)

If you require a place for Breakfast Club please email school, priority will be given to working parents

No access will be allowed once gates close at 8.10am

Access to Bell Tower Reception

Bell Tower will be closed until 9.45am each day Children will not be allowed to access school through this

route There is a strict one in and one out rule Staff will ask you to speak through the intercom

Only one person is allowed on the ramp at any one time.

Collecting your child early

You will not be allowed to collect your child early from school

Please make all medical appointments outside the school day.

Any request to collect your child early has to be pre-arranged and agreed by the Headteacher.

School will direct you on the best time to collect your child

L4 After school provision

Limited spaces will be available for L4 After school club If you have been allocated a place, a member of staff will

contact you

After School Clubs There will be no after school clubs during the Autumn term This will be reviewed once further guidance has been

Playtimes are staggered to ensure children and staff can socially distance

The number of children on the school yard will be reduced Children will remain in their ‘bubble’ during play Any equipment which is used is cleaned before re-use

Keeping your child safe

Illness It is important that you follow the government guidelines if you, your child or a member of your household becomes ill. Your child will not be permitted into school if they have one of the following symptoms

a fever (temperature of 37.8C or higher) a loss of or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

Enhanced Hygiene

Children will wash hands when entering the building Do not bring a bag to school

Parents and visitors will not be allowed in the building and will have restricted access to the school playground.

An enhanced cleaning programme will take place during school opening hours, this will follow the recommended guidelines from Liverpool City Council.

All soft furnishings have been removed from school where possible Class bubbles Children will stay within their class bubbles with the same adults, this is to reduce any cross contamination and to allow a school track and trace system. There will be restricted movement around school and no child can enter the building late or leave early as this can pose a risk to other children and adults across school.

Restricted Access The main thing to remember is that there will be ‘Restricted Access’ to the school site. You will not be able to speak to your teacher on the playground at the beginning or the end of the school day. Don’t be late

The main reception area will be closed during the morning.

If your child is late your child will not be permitted into the building under any circumstances.

This is so we can maintain safe zones across school. Your child will receive an absent mark and will have to come back to school the following day.

Attendance If well, your child will be expected to attend school every day.

Absence If your child is absent from school, please call the school telephone number and choose ‘Option 1’ reporting a pupil absent.

From 1st September 2020 your child is expected in school and normal Liverpool City Council procedures will be in place. School’s Educational Welfare Officer will be working with our families to support the children’s return.

Working in Zones & class bubbles

Children will work in designated zones across the site and will stay within their class bubble with limited exposure to any other children

Lunchtimes will be staggered

Playtimes will be staggered and children will play in designated areas.

Keeping in-touch It is more important than ever that school have up to date contact information. Please provide school with the following information:

Up to date telephone numbers

At least 2 emergency contact numbers

A work contact number if applicable

An email address

Parent app and text message will be used where possible

Please answer your phone if we call you.

Illness

Before your child comes to school

It is important that you follow the government guidelines if you, your child or a member of your household becomes ill. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection

During the school day

If your child becomes ill while on school premises with one of the following symptoms:

a new continuous cough and /or a fever (temperature of 37.8C or higher) a loss of or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

Your child will be isolated into a designated area and supervised by a member of staff. We will call home immediately for you to come and collect your child and their siblings. We will ask you to go for a test and ask you to inform school immediately of the results. School will follow Liverpool City Council Guidelines and details of this are on the school website under COVID information or at the end of this booklet.

If a member of the class bubble is (+) tested positive for COVID 19

The child, their siblings, the adults and the children in the class bubble (but not siblings of the children in the class bubble) will be asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

If your child or a member of the class bubble is (-) tested negative but is still showing symptoms

The NHS guidelines are that the child and their siblings need to self-isolate until symptoms are clear. See the flowchart at the back of this booklet. Please see the school website for more information about health and safety procedures under the ‘Returning to School’ button.

School Uniform

Children will be expected to wear full school uniform.

X Please do not send your child to school with a school bag

Your child will need a waterproof coat as you may need to queue outside the building at the beginning of the day

School Shop

The uniform shop will remain closed until December. This is because there are reduced visitors on site. The office staff are busy working on all the orders which have been received in school prior to the end of term. You can still order uniform;

However uniform orders received after 17th July 2020 will not be guaranteed and will depend on stock levels in school.

You can pay for your order once this is ready to be collected.

Card or Cash Payments are accepted.

Note: if you pay cash, please have the correct amount and place it in a sealed envelope.

Uniform Returns

Please follow the return instructions in your uniform bag. Office staff will contact you to collect your uniform when it is ready. If we don’t contact you before the end of term, there will be an opportunity for you to collect your uniform before the children start school. We will contact you to come and collect your uniform at an allocated time.

Missing / Outstanding Items

If you have placed an order all outstanding items have been requested from the supplier. We will contact you to collect your items as soon as we have them in school.

Free School Meals

Free School Meals have been ordered for the summer. You will receive your vouchers on the following dates:

13th July 2020 1 week at £15.00

20th July 2020 2 weeks at £15.00 (£30.00)

3rd August 2020 2 weeks at £15.00 (£30.00)

17th August 2020 2 weeks at £15.00 (£30.00)

31st August 2020 1 week at £15.00

School do not have the facility to backdate vouchers

You will only receive these vouchers if your child is eligible and appears on the government benefits list. As school is closed; if you do not receive your vouchers, on the dates provided above please contact Edenred, (this is the company who are responsible for issuing your vouchers and they will look into your query.) Think you might now be eligible? If your circumstances change and you think your child is eligible for free school meals after the school closes for the summer break you need to apply for Free School Meals using the link below: https://liverpool.gov.uk/communities-and-safety/emergency-planning/coronavirus/schools-and-education/free-school-meal-vouchers/

If you are eligible, you will receive a notification confirming this. During school’s summer holiday period, you will be sent vouchers by Liverpool City Council on a fortnightly basis.

Lunch

There will be no packed lunches accepted in school. All children from Reception to Year 6 will receive a lunch at school, this will be at no cost to the parent. Nursery children who normally stay for lunch, will not be allowed to bring a packed lunch. Lunch will be provided at an additional charge to parents

Administration of Medicine Please see the school website for information on the administration of medicine in school Health & Safety School follow Liverpool City Council guidelines, a Health & Safety policy is on the school website. E-45 cream

Due to continuous hand washing the children’s skin may become dry.

School will provide E-45 cream which your child can use throughout the day, please contact school if you do not wish school to administer E-45 cream

You can supply an alternative cream provided this falls in line with our administration of

medicine policy. (A copy of this is on the school website)

It is everyone’s responsibility to make sure they follow social distancing guidelines while queuing up outside school. It will be busy and we recommend adults wear a face covering.

In order to get all children into school safely we have increased the number of

entrances and exits to school.

We have staggered start and end times for school. This is so we can have a safe entry and exit to school. We expect it to be busy, so please follow the enter and exit guidelines detailed in this booklet.

We ask that parents work with school in order for children to enter the building safely and always follow the 3 P rule

Don’t be late You will not be allowed access to school once the school gates have closed at 9.00am. We will not allow late children to enter the building under any circumstances. Children will not be allowed to cross zones throughout the day or mix with children who are not in their class bubble. You won’t be able to speak your child’s class teacher Should you wish to speak to someone in school you will need to telephone the school office on 0151 263 1541 or you will need to email school [email protected] A member of the team will call you back or answer your query. Due to the limited time to get children safely into school, there will be no access to the class teacher at the school entrance at the beginning or end of the school day. To allow staff to concentrate on bringing the children into school safely, you will not be able to speak to your child’s class teacher

Keeping the 2 metre social distancing rule

It’s everyone’s responsibility!

There will be markings around the outside of the school Please make sure you are socially distancing when queuing with your child. It will be busy and we recommend adults wear a face covering. It is important to note that while your child is in school, we will have systems in place so children are 2 metres apart. However, please be aware that despite our best efforts it will not always be possible for children to remain 2 metres apart while in the school building.
