Thank you so much for your site about using Teaching with Smartboards. I'm a graduate student ‐ about to graduate and go into teaching (school library media specialist) and it is great to be able to see all the tricks of the trade! I spent an entertaining evening watching your shows. Your presentations are wonderful ‐ short and to the point with real‐life application... You guys sorta remind me of Car Talk's Click and Clack brothers!
One thing.... ummm... I did notice that on session 61, I think it was, that "commutative" property was misspelled. I thought your idea of grouping elements on the smartboard was brilliant ‐ great for higher order thinking and could be used for word sorts, too. Keep up the great work! I'll be watching!

Thanks so much for all the work you both have put into the podcasts on ITunes regarding the Smart Board.
I live in Sydney, Australia and teach in a suburb called Roseville (at Roseville College) on the North Shore.
I pestered the school for a Smart Board and we are gradually putting the IWB's in all classrooms from Kindergarten through to Year 12. They have changed the way I teach (even after 28 years of teaching). I spend hours each night preparing lessons, listening to podcasts, discovering new activities and different methods of teaching the same material in a different form.
Year podcasts are terrific..funny, informative and entertaining. Thanks so much for doing it. I tell all the staff at the school that this is a great way to start and develop their skills.
I know the podcasts had to come to a conclusion, however, they have kept me entertained for 3 months. After spending about 250 hours learning, class preparation and experimenting I think I am getting there. I would imagine that the learning will never end.
Many, many thanks to you both.
Regards

Scott and Dave,
Just wanted to send you a huge thank you for your podcasts. My district recently purchased smartboards for every classroom, however they are waiting until the installation is complete to provide any training. This won't be until January. I couldn't wait. In the 3 weeks I've had mine, I've become the goto person for questions regarding the smartboards thanks to your podcasts. They have been invaluable. I am already doing shell lessons and taking the completed lessons and saving them as pdf's and uploading them to my website for students to use later. Again thank you and keep up the good work!

1. Double click on the items to change the text.2. Select all the items and lock and allow move.Give the students think time in pairs. Randomly pick a pair of students to move an item to a place on the scale. They must justify their placement. The next pair of students can move a new item or change a previous item’s placement. This continues until all the items have been placed at least once. Another way to present this template is to put an order on the scale and say that two are out of order. The students do not know which is out of order and will have a good discussion about what should get changed.
