My position at the Art Group was split into the following roles:

Design & Illustration: The creation of typographic and illustration based greetings cards, giftwrap and postcards, as well as the overall design and artworking for the finished articles, including logos and range branding.

The creation of artworks for wall art and canvas product, plus the artworking and design of the finished product.

High-end Retouching: A good portion of my time at the Art Group was spent working on their Art On Demand imprint. I worked closely with museums such as the Tate Gallery, MoMA, The Met and The Natural History museum.

Our team had to meticulously retouch colour to meet the requirements of museums and Artist estates, matching signed off proofs or working to the explicit instructions given by institutions.

General Print management: Managing and creating print ready PDF files with GMG rip software and large format Epson and HP printers.

Scanning original artworks using a specialist large format Cruse Scanner, then correcting and proofing the reproduction for approval by the artist.

Scanning and correcting negative and positive transparencies using the Heidelberg Topaz flatbed and Primescan drum scanners.

Skills required include self motivation, good time and financial management skills, the ability to interpret a brief concisely and quickly and the knowledge and understanding of how to approach new business in order to win new clients.
