6th Annual
ILEAD Youth Summit
Saturday, Nov. 1st, 2014
We welcomed teens from across
Marion and Polk Counties to our
youth leadership development
event at the beautiful Oregon 4H
Education and Conference Center
in West Salem, OR.
The day’s activities included skill-
building workshops on:
career personalities
resume-making
networking; how to better represent
oneself to advance goals
and, an Opportunity Fair hosted by
Job Growers.
Students also got the chance to:
hear from guest speaker Chip
Conrad with CEED on taking risks
to move forward in life;
meet WVP Health Authority’s
Jeanine Stice who shared on the
importance of a healthy lifestyle;
participate in group activities with
OSU student leaders.
The summit encourages high
school students to integrate what
they’ve learned into their daily
lives both in their immediate and
long term futures while encourag-
ing their peers to do the same.
COMMITTEE:
Thankyou PARTNERS & SPONSORS:
STEP UP. STAND OUT. In your community.
The 2014 ILEAD Youth Committee consisted of 6 Salem Keizer School District teens who began work in February with us. They selected the event’s theme & t-shirt design (pictured at left), approved workshops, recruited and promoted the event, made phone call confirmations, helped develop the overall summit itinerary, messaging and after dinner-recreational activities, and served as speakers and staff the day of the event. The success of ILEAD would not be possible without these amazing leaders! Our ILEAD Committee’s 2014 goal was to encourage high schoolers to learn HOW they could STEP UP their resume, their skills and their experiences to STAND OUT as leaders in school, the workplace and their cities. We believe teens are valuable members of the community and we seek to empower and equip them to make a difference!
ILEAD is an asset-building event for youth. For more info on how the
community can help build up teens: www.search-institutue.org.
