Michael and Jerri Coleman have spent almost 6 years with us. We’ve been with them through the birth of two sons, Christian and Caleb, and we’ve watched their oldest, Catherine, develop into a fine young girl. Together, Coleman and Jerri have made a great team in leading and developing our youth, as well as a great team in developing our Catalyst service. We are going to miss them both a great deal.

I hope you will take the opportunity to wish them a fond farewell during a reception in their honor on May 1 in our Fellowship Hall. The reception will follow a commissioning service of Coleman as an Army chaplain at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We are pleased that Chaplain (COL) Keith Travis, retired, will participate in that afternoon service, as well as preach in the worship services that morning. Also joining us for the commissioning service will be Chaplain (LTC) Tim Atkinson of Fort Bragg. He will administer the Oath of Office and Debby Akerman will deliver the commissioning prayer. Steve Sifford will sing and Jerri will lead the hymns, so it should be a great service all the way around.

Yet in Cumberland, KY, they have none of those stores. They only have Freedom Center, a ministry directed by missionaries, George and Robin Lewis. Maybe, you can take a look in your linen closets and give from your blankets, and queen or king-size sheet sets? Place your donations in the container on the Literature Table.

Mobile Meals of MB is a non-profit organization that delivers a hot meal Mon.-Fri. to 50-55 needy people. Three volun-teers, a driver, a packer and a runner are needed for each delivery. They meet at Bi-Lo at 38th Ave. N. at 9 a.m. on delivery day, to pack the Mobile Meals van with prepared meals. Usually, the route is finished around 11:30 a.m. or Noon. Please call Marian Canady, 361-0818, if you can volunteer to help in any way.

To My OVBC Family: After almost 22 years, I must say good-bye. It’s hard to do, but due to health issues with my back and other health problems, my doctors have told me that I shouldn’t be working. They have advised me to seek disability. I will miss all of you, dearly. I know that God has a plan for all of us and I have faith that He will take care of me. My last day will be May 17th. Please pray for me and my family. This will be a difficult time for us. We will be trying to get by without any income from me, just our cleaning business. Thanks for all the years we’ve had together. — Blessings, Jeff Hannan
