AGILE @ ITHAKA • Organizational investment

•  5+ years of Agile •  Investment in training and resources

•  Scrum Masters •  Conferences •  Coaches •  Supplies

•  Flexibility • Enabling CHANGE with CHOICES

•  Team TASK BOARDS are our best example

CHANGE IS HARD • Change pushes our buttons

•  Fear, uncertainty, confusion, doubt

• May trigger the grief process •  Denial, Guilt, Anger, Depression, Resignation

• New process may seem too big •  May feel overwhelming •  Too many rules? •  Costly in terms of time and money

TASK BOARDS

TASK BOARDS continued

AND MORE TASK BOARDS

AND (my favorite) TASK BOARD

TEAM OWNERSHIP

WHAT’S IN COMMON? • What did you see?

WHAT’S DIFFERENT? • Did you notice anything different?

FLEXIBILTY ENABLES CHOICES •  The board reflects a given teams’ goals and objective •  The team is empowered to add additional information and

processes • Each board reflects a teams’ CHOICES:

•  They decide on the content of the board •  They determine the cadence of the flow

LESSONS LEARNED • Change is hard for everyone • While CHOICES can be hard, there is freedom • Providing CHOICES leads to ownership • Ownership leads to adoption
