DAY 2 / Sep 2013: Hong Kong 7:00 a.m. Breakfast in the residing hotel 9:00 a.m. Depart from hotel for the full day “From Fishing Village to Metropolitan” Explorations Tour, with visits to:

• The Peak (with an one way Peak Tram ride up to the Peak) • Repulse Bay • Aberdeen Fishing Village (with sampan ride for 20 minutes) • Stanley Market

The tour begins with a peak tram ride to Victoria Peak for a 360-degree view of the city, harbour, and islands that has mesmerized visitors and inspired photographers since the tramway opened in 1888 (more than 120 years). Your transport awaits you at the top and takes you to your next destination, Aberdeen. Here the contrast in Hong Kong lifestyles is never more evident. Sampans zip around the harbour, their size dwarfed by huge multi-million dollar yachts and fishing boats in the marina. A sampan cruise around the docked boats provides a glimpse of every day life as people go about their business repairing nets, cooking, and sorting the catch on their fishing boat.

Next stop is at the popular outdoor shopping market known as Stanley Market. Good bargains are designer goods and factory outlet clothing, brassware, porcelains, leather goods and souvenirs such as chops, silk shorts, and jade trinkets and so much more …

En route to Stanley, pass the lovely Repulse Bay. In Repulse Bay, one building of particular interest is a glistening new glass high-rise that features a cut out in the middle. In keeping with good “Feng Shui”, the cut out allows the dragon an unobstructed journey from the hill should he need to drink from the bay.

Enjoy an authentic Cantonese “Dim Sum” lunch at the Jumbo Kingdom – the world’s largest floating restaurant in the Aberdeen Fishing Village. “Dim Sum” is a lovely snack that steamed in a decent bamboo basket. “Yum Cha” (means eating “Dim Sum” and drinking Chinese Tea) is a timeless typical social gathering in the Chinese community in South China. It is a good opportunity to taste about the local culture.

After lunch, the tour continues to explore the amazing city by moving to Kowloon peninsula. The tour will first arrive at the Chi Lin Nunnery, a beautiful Chinese garden built in the wealthy “Tang Dynasty” architectural style which, it was the strongest dynasty in the Chinese history in terms of everything.

Next step will the interesting Bird Garden, it is an impressive funny place where you can listen the bird singing and bird play show along the stalls. Here is a fascinating open-air area of stalls selling and trading all types of pet birds. Beautiful bamboo cages, seeds, and bags of grasshoppers and worms are also sold here. Birds, particularly songbirds and birds that can speak fascinate all the visitors.

The final stop of the tour will be visiting the colourful and exotic Flower Market in Mong Kok. It is actually a wholesale flowers market of which, it is
