IC-307 EXTERNAL CREO® COLOUR SERVER
CREATIVE POWER & PERFORMANCEIn combination with the IC-307 Creo® color server, Konica Minolta’s colour digital presses are suitably equipped for the complex challenges and individual requirements of any professional print production environment. Powered by the print controller, the high-speed bizhub colour printing systems are the perfect solution for VDP applications (Creo® VPS) and an ideal choice for hybrid prepress workflows. Together, controller and bizhub colour press deliver a truly profes sional colour print performance with complete competence.
Bridging the gap between offset and digital
Turnaround times are faster with reduced labour, thanks to the built-in JDF/JMF capabilities that provide the seamless integration of all production steps. There is for example the unique connectivity to Kodak Prinergy Workflow and other Kodak Unified Workflow Solutions, which provides the integration with commercial print workflow solutions and helps route jobs between offset and digital systems.
With the Creo® color server job-ticket software, JDF (Job Definition Format) files can be created that contain printing parameters in a job ticket. Full support is also provided for job parameters of third-party software, such as the Kodak Prinergy Workflow. At the same time, OPI and APR support saves processing time by inserting high-resolution images into jobs during production.
Access to the profitable and growing VDP market
The IC-307 Creo® colour server accepts all standard VDP data formats including VPS, Optimised PDF, Optimised PostScript, PPML and PostScript, and integrates them with PDF workflows. Gallop for example allows a long print job (usually VDP) to begin printing while the job is still process-ing, ensuring greater efficiency in the production workflow. In addition, Post-RIP Imposition enables the editing of imposed VDP jobs without the need to re-RIP them.
Impeccable colour quality and consistency
Designed specifically for the Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS systems, the IC-307 print controller provides control over the digital press’s full colour gamut. Built-in colour manage-ment ensures superior results and allows sophisticated adjustments for special jobs or hard-to-match colours. Additionally, the Adobe PDF Print Engine 2 is built in for fast, accurate ‘native’ rendering of complex PDF files.
CONTROLLER IC-307
Boosting profits with increased productivity
The Hot Folder and Virtual Printer capabilities on the IC-307 reduce errors with preset workflows for frequently used job settings. It is for example possible to readjust Ready-to-Print (RTP) jobs after ripping, which can considerably improve the overall productivity. The Parallel RIP feature helps speed up production time by processing two jobs simultaneously (optionally available with the Process Power Kit). The controller can be set to automatically generate SMS and email notifications – which reduces idle times of the press, as the production can be monitored from any mobile phone or handheld device. This boosts the overall productivity of devices and operators. Moreover, deploying automated alerts and notifications according to predefined settings can additionally lower costs, increase throughput and enable companies to manage more jobs and achieve greater revenue potential.
Easy workflow for faster job turnaround
While the operator interface allows a great level of customi-sation, it is nevertheless easy to learn and efficient to us e. Even novice operators are soon able to take advantage of its capabilities and quickly process jobs with a variety of file formats. In addition, if for any reason the press should go down, users are immediately alerted by SMS or email. The IC-307 print controller enables an automated workflow with minimised human interaction and a reduced error rate.
Optional enhancements
– The Professional Power Kit adds features requested by print service providers, including Dynamic Page, Exceptions (SPD), Spot Colour Matching/Test Printing, Progressive Printing, the VDP Management tool, the Imposition Template Builder, the Slug Line tool, and Enfocus PitStop Software.
– The Imposition Power Kit provides more flexibility in working with offset-like imposition techniques. Based on Kodak Preps Imposition Software, it is especially valu-able when working in a hybrid offset-digital environment. It allows the use of larger paper sizes in digital printing, and provides easy, intuitive imposition and job ganging.
– The Process Power Kit boosts overall processing capabilities to minimise waiting times and to automati-cally improve photo-print output.
– The Transaction Power Kit provides the compatibility, speed and configuration ease required for high-speed, high-volume production printing for the transaction market.
– Printing from AFP: Print from any AFP-enabled system or application – with identical results to existing IPDS solutions – and produce optimised Adobe PortScript files. Fully compatible with the INFOPRINT AFP platform.
