Natural stone panellingNatural stones impress on many fronts – their unique variety in terms of appearance, touch and texture, their functionality and their sustain-ability.HEMM STONE GmbH is Sto's partner for natural stone, specialised in natu-ral stone fi nishing and extracting Sto Fossil SKL (shell limestone) from the Sellenberg quarry. To ensure the broadest possible product range, HEMM STONE GmbH obtains high-quality stones from all over the world for cutting and fi nishing.Natural stone panelling is suitable for interior and exterior use on exist-ing and new buildings alike, as fa-cade embellishments, window sills, fl ooring and architectural elements.
SustainabilityNo energy is required to produce natural stone. Extraction and process-ing involve relatively low levels of energy input in comparison to other building materials. Waste material arising during the extraction and processing of natural stones and the restoration of natural stone quarries can be put to economically viable use in other areas, such as horticulture or landscaping. This results in a closed cycle, with no losses of material. In addition, natural stone does not re-quire any chemical additives or pro-tective coatings. It is inherently free of harmful substances and non-combus-tible.These economical and ecological merits of natural stone provide for sustainability – a crucial factor in choosing building materials.

FacadesProduct properties such as strength, hardness and stability are a boon when planning and designing fa-cades. A natural stone panel facade guarantees long-term protection from environmental infl uences and pollu-tion. The extremely hard-wearing and weather-resistant material provides for a particularly long service life.
StonemasonryNatural stone design elements lend facades, outside areas and interiors a highly distinctive appearance. Natural stone preserves classical features and the historical character of old build-ings in renovation projects while highlighting striking or discreet con-tours on modern architecture. The solid material can be delicately crafted to embellish buildings with added prestige value. The varied spectrum extends here from decora-tive elements such as rosettes through ledges to columns and capi-tals. Window sillsAround windows and doors, natural stone often performs a protective function too, draining off rain water. Window sills also play a key role in defi ning the character of a building.

VarietyIn addition to its high level of func-tionality, natural stone also offers broad design scope. Apart from the outstanding variety offered by adiverse spectrum of different colours and textures, the different surface fi nishes also make every stone panel absolutely unique, providing building owners and architects with a wealth of design options. Over the years, HEMM STONE GmbH has built up a rich fund of expertise in the area of manual and machine-based surface fi nishing.
Stone crafted to your needsFrom smooth-ground through coarse bush-hammered to knapped effect, the variety of surface fi nishes is virtu-ally unlimited. A smooth, gloss sur-face enhances the imposing character of a grand hall or auditorium, or the elegance of a foyer, for example. A rough fi nish offering a good grip lends a building a more natural ambi-ence. A ground surface with a matt effect provides stone with a softer appearance. The different surface fi nishes produce specifi c design ef-fects according to the area of applica-tion – as facade embellishments, win-dow sills, fl ooring or architectural elements.

StoVerotec Stone MassiveVentilated rainscreen cladding system with natural stone panellingA solid surface without any visible fi xing points:The StoVerotec Stone Massive system with easily replaceable stone panels. A classy appearance, and economical to install.
With this system the natural stone panels areprovided with undercut drilled holes on the rear, technically approved undercut anchors are fi tted and aluminium agraffes are screwed into place. The panels are then fi tted to the prepared stainless steel-aluminium sub-construction, which reduces the thermal bridging effect of the anchorage in comparison to drilling mortar anchorage. Thissimple fi xing system minimises installation work and enables the panelling to be fi tted on site inany type of weather.
Another benefi t of this system is the markedly lower noise and dust emissions in comparison to conventional drilling mortar anchorage. This techni-cally proven system is suitable for all natural stone panelling from the range. Any restrictions regarding panel formats result solely from static or geological reasons or technical aspects of the installation process.
StoVentec StoneVentilated rainscreen cladding system with natural stone panellingWith pointed joints and broad scope for combina-tion with other materials: The StoVentec Stone system, featuring a unique, stylish, high-classap-pearance.
StoVentec Stone is the ventilated rainscreen clad-ding system whose closed joints provide for a strik-ing seamless look. The StoVentec carrier boards consisting of expanded glass granulate provide an excellent substrate for natural stone panelling, are temperature-resistant and possess a low coeffi cient of expansion.
The StoVentec Stone system can be fi tted with numerous thin and lightweight panels measuring up to 90 x 60 cm to provide effective insulation and an attractive fi nish for both existing and new buildings. With this system the natural stone panels which are bonded in place on site enable a natural stone facade at only just over a third of the weight of the StoVerotec Stone Massive facade system. Combinations of stone with plaster, glass, glass mosaic or ceramics open up virtually unlimited scope for individual designs.

These systems have been the most commonly installed natural stone panel facade systems for some years now. Various solutions have been evolved over the years to meet the most diverse requirements. Holes for fi tting the anchoring pins are drilled in the panels in the area of the horizontal or vertical joints. All panels from our natural stone panelling range can be used to produce a stable system which is suitable for both interior and outsideapplications.
StoTherm Classic, StoTherm Vario and StoTherm MineralExternal wall insulation systems with natural stone panellingSimple and effective: Swift and economical installa-tion. Reliable, combinable and extremely hard-wearing.The limited combustibility / non combustibleexternal wall insulation systems StoTherm Classic, StoTherm Vario and StoTherm Mineral are suitable for installation on both new and existing buildings. They offer high shock resistance, extreme resistance to weather infl uences and excellent thermal insula-tion.The protective and insulating functions and the swift and simple installation of these lightweight systems are a boon for any building. They reduce both energy costs and CO² emissions, making them a worthwhile investment all round. Different surface fi nishes can be combined without any problem, as natural stone panels, plaster and ceramics can all be applied directly to the external wall insulation system (EWIS). The stone panels are available in the maximum size of 61 x 30.5 cm for installation upto a height of 4 m and in 30.5 x 30.5 format for fi tting at a height of 4 m or above.
