Welcome back to the Arts Club Theatre Company. On behalf of all of us here, we can honestly say we’ve missed you immensely. Thank you for sharing part of your summer with us.

And there will be more to come this fall! As we write this, we’re finalizing a 5-show series at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage to start in mid-November that will blow your socks off. Here’s a sneak peek: our first show back at the Stanley is Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol!

Set during the 1930s, in East Tennessee, this heartwarming musical imagines Ebenezer Scrooge as the greedy owner of a mining company town whose past literally comes back to haunt him. Charles Dickens’s classic characters and Dolly Parton’s one-of-a-kind songwriting talents come together for a holiday event made for sharing with loved ones. Season tickets to this new holiday musical tradition plus four more productions will go on sale in early August. Look out for our announcement and get ready for a season of entertainment at our flagship venue.

We are also delighted to announce that Ashlie is going to become a mom at the end of July! While she’s on parental leave, Rachel Peake has joined our team as our new Associate Artistic Director, Programming. Rachel will execute Ashlie’s artistic vision of our 2021–2022 season.

Originally hailing from Saskatchewan, Rachel is a freelance director and dramaturg of theatre and opera. Most recently, she was the Associate Artistic Director of the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, where she led their New Play Development initiatives.

We are excited to welcome both Baby Corcoran and Rachel to our theatre family! And we are also happy to open our Granville Island Stage on August 5 with Beneath Springhill: The Maurice Ruddick Story, an inspiring Canadian story told through song. We hope to see you there!

Thanks for joining us, thanks for your support, and welcome back—healthy, happy, and ready for theatre to sweep its magic over you again. Ashlie and Peter ashlie corcoran artistic directorpeter cathie white executive director

The Arts Club Theatre Company, one of the largest not-for-profit theatre companies in the country, is the principal gathering place for the theatrical arts in British Columbia. The organization is dedicated to the advancement of local artists telling stories from around the globe and, in particular, those of our region. From this, we believe that culture expands, an understanding of differences is nurtured, and art bursts forth. The Arts Club was founded in 1964 and is currently led by Artistic Director Ashlie Corcoran and Executive Director Peter Cathie White.
